DGBR MONTHLY NEWS LETTER

DG’s SECRETARIAT
2. (a) Visit to Chennai. DGBR visited Chennai wef 28 Feb 2011 to 01 Mar 2011 and
attended seminar on „New Materials in Road Construction for Stabilized Pavements‟ at IIT
Chennai.
(b) Visit to Project Sewak and NH-53 (Pushpak) . DGBR visited Project Sewak
and NH-53 of Project Pushpak wef 02 Mar 2011 to 05 Mar 2011. The highlights of the
visit are as under :-
(i) The DGBR inspected progress of ongoing works on the
following road sectors:-
(aa) NH-53, HH-39, Inspection of Limakong Br, Moreh-Thingphai-New-
Samtal Road and Moreh fencing wks.
(ii)
The DGBR called on the following dignitaries:-
(aa) Shri Nikhil Kumar, HE The Governor of Nagaland.
(ab) Shri Neiphiu Rio, Hon‟ble Chief Minister, Nagaland.
(ac) Maj Gen M George, VSM, Offg GOC 3 Corps.
(ad) Maj DS Hudda, AVSM,VSM, GOC 57 Mtn Div.
(iii)
The DGBR also interacted informally with all ranks at all locations.
(c) Visit to Guwahati. DGBR visited Guwahati on 11 Mar 2011 and attended DPC
for promotion to the grade of Administrative Officer in BRO for the vacancy
year 2010-2011.
(d) Visit to Project Sampark. DGBR visited Project Sampark wef 16 Mar to 18
Mar 2011. The highlights of the visit are as under :-
(i) The DGBR inspected progress of ongoing works on the following road
sectors :-
(aa) Four laning wks of NHAI, Basoli Br, Rajouri-Tain Br,
Reasi-Katra Road & Domel-Katra road.
(ii) The DGBR called on the following dignitaries :
