2011 WEBER STATE FOOTBALL CAMPS<br />

The 2011 <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Football</strong> Summer Camps provide an excellent opportunity for players of all<br />

ages to enhance their skills by working with the <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> coaching staff. During the month of June,<br />

individual and team-oriented camps along with other team competitions will be conducted at the WSU<br />

practice facilities. These camps will place an emphasis on developing specific individual skills as well<br />

as team development. <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> has a camp for everyone. Please select the camp(s) best suited<br />

to your needs and schedule and assist us by sending the enclosed application prior to June 1, 2011<br />

or by bringing it with you the day of registration..<br />

ELIGIBILITY<br />

Participants interested in football must be at least seven years of age to attend <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Football</strong><br />

Camp and can not have begun taking classes associated with their senior year of high school.<br />

APPLICATION<br />

Interested participants for all camps must fully complete the attached application along with accompanying<br />

health insurance information and full payment. The <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Football</strong> Camp and <strong>Weber</strong><br />

<strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> reserve the right to alter camp dates to ensure maximum instruction for all campers.<br />

REGISTRATION<br />

All campers will confirm attendance and receive registration materials at the <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> practice fields<br />

across from Promotory Tower prior to the start of each camp. Registration will start promptly at the posted<br />

time and will conclude at the posted time.<br />

The Camps:<br />

MAC’S KIDS CAMP (Age 7- 8th Grade ∙ June 8-9) Cost: $100 (Day Camp Only)<br />

<strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong>’s experienced coaching staff will offer a hands-on approach in dealing with the younger<br />

campers, helping them to appreciate the game of football to its fullest. At the camp, every individual<br />

will receive as much special attention as required to enhance the experience of the youngest players.<br />

Finding a position that best suits the camper’s ability without the distraction of older players, and<br />

pointing each camper in the right direction are also goals of the camp. The young players will learn<br />

the basic fundamentals of football along with having fun and building new relationships with other<br />

campers. Every camper that attends the camp will also receive free admission to one WSU home<br />

football game. Campers will report for registration between 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. on the first day of camp,<br />

Wednesday June 8th. On Thursday, campers should arrive at 9:00 a.m. The drop off/ pickup location<br />

is <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> practice field. Camp concludes at 1:00 p.m. and campers should be retrieved no later<br />

than 1:15 p.m. Shorts, t-shirt, and cleat are recommended. This will be a non-padded camp. Lunch<br />

will be provided.<br />

ONE DAY INDIVIDUAL CAMP (9th -12th grade ∙ June 7)<br />

Cost: $60<br />

This full padded controlled contact camp provides instruction for all offensive and defensive positions.<br />

The <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> staff will teach the basic fundamentals and emphasize individual techniques in order<br />

to develop better overall players. Individuals at the camp will be coached by the WSU staff during<br />

the entire camp to ensure that they learn the very most they possibly can to become a better football<br />

player. All campers are required to provide all necessary equipment: Helmet, shoulder pads, cleats,<br />

(knee, thigh, hip, tail pads), practice jersey, and pants. Equipment may be rented for $50. Campers<br />

should report for registration between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. on Tues. June 7th. Camp activities start at<br />

9:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided.<br />

(June 10th)<br />

Cost: $15 Per Participant<br />

This 7 on 7 passing camp and Big Man Challenge is for Varsity, JV and Soph/Frosh high school<br />

teams. It is held at the <strong>Weber</strong> County Fairgrounds and guarantees each team 5 games before<br />

the single elimination tournament begins. It allows teams the opportunity to compete against<br />

other programs and develop their offensive and defensive schemes and an opportunity for lineman<br />

to face other teams in a ”strongest man” competition.<br />
