I am constantly comparing<br />
my “digital” prints against my<br />
“wet” prints as I still shoot 98%<br />
film for my personal work.<br />
Since I print in a darkroom<br />
and from a computer, the<br />
digital prints must hold their<br />
own in tonal scale, detail and<br />
“punch”. I have, in the past,<br />
hesitated to use digital matt<br />
papers on some on my images<br />
because the “punch” (tonal<br />
range in the dark zones) was<br />
often rendered too flat. I tried<br />
the new Canson matt paper<br />
and the Rag Photographique<br />
paper has some of the best<br />
black tones I have ever seen<br />
in a matt paper.<br />
