The Tourism Quality Cluster
acts as a trademark of quality
performance which encompasses the
implementation of various standards
for our tourism stakeholders and their
organizations.
The Tourism Quality Cluster is operated and
managed by the Product Development Department of
the Tourism Development Company Limited (TDC)
which is responsible for the following tourism quality
assurance programmes:
• Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Industry Certification
(TTTIC) – the region’s leading tourism certification
system
• Small Tourism Enterprises Project (STEP) –
provides small tourism entrepreneurs with critical
business enhancement and specialist skills
• Service. Training. Attitude. Respect (STAR) -
benchmarked as the Caribbean’s foremost customer
service delivery solution
• EarthCheck - an internationally recognized
environmental management and certification
programme for tourism operators
• Blue Flag - an environmental certification for
beaches ensuring environmental management,
education and safety
• Visitor Relations Management System (VRMS)
- a system to capture, analyze and address visitor
feedback
• Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) – initiatives
to ensure that tourism operators and local sites and
attractions are in compliance with health and safety
requirements for both visitors and staff
