Growth in Virginia Market Spurs
New Branch Opening and Promotion in Lorton, VA
Laytonsville, MD - Ruppert Landscape has expanded its Virginia operations to include a new
branch in Lorton, VA and has promoted David Keffer to the position of Branch Manager to run
the branch.
“The Northern Virginia market is a vibrant area with a lot of great customers,” said Phil Key,
Vice President and Director of the Landscape Management Division. “We are fortunate in this
down market to be in a position to expand with a new branch and provide growth opportunity for
our employees.”
This branch, which services the areas of Woodbridge, Alexandria, Arlington, Crystal City, Tysons
Corner and parts of Fairfax, joins 14 existing branch offices that are located in Maryland, Virginia,
Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina, supporting both the landscape construction and
landscape management divisions of the company. Key describes the opening of the Lorton
branch, which was started as a satellite operation over a year ago, as right in line with the
company’s five-year plan.

“Every time we grow in the markets we serve, it gives us more density, which means less travel
time to our jobs,” said Key. “This provides more value for our customers, which in turn,
perpetuates more growth.”
The branch will be managed by David Keffer, who has been with the Ruppert organization
serving in the position of Area Manager in both the Gainesville, VA branch and the Lorton
satellite operation. Keffer has been described by Key as having been instrumental in cultivating
vital customer relationships that now anchor the Lorton branch. “The promotion of David Keffer
to Branch Manager in Lorton gave us the continuity we desired for our customers as David had
been a leader in that market and essentially managed all of the branch’s work already,” noted
Key. “He really helped build this branch from the ground up, including finding the location for
the facility when it was introduced as a satellite operation, establishing our presence in the
market through strong customer service and attention to detail, and building a strong and
dedicated team.”
Keffer has over 25 years of industry experience and in 2008 was recognized with Ruppert’s
Branch Impact Award for his outstanding dedication and contributions made in the Gainesville
Landscape Management Branch. In his role as Branch Manager, he will continue to develop the
Lorton branch with philosophies that are consistent with the Ruppert mission, which is to
provide high-quality landscaping to our customers while building an organization where our
employees play a leadership role and are proud of where they work.
Ruppert Landscape provides commercial landscape construction and management in Maryland,
Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina from 15 branch offices and has a longstanding
tradition of giving back to the community. In addition, the company operates a 475-acre
wholesale tree nursery specializing in large tree growing and moving in Montgomery County,
MD.
