second-year students to conduct
research with faculty through the
Research Opportunities Program.
Victoria College added a new offering to its popular Vic One program. The Egerton
Ryerson stream, coordinated by teaching and education professor Sheila Cook,
focuses on studies in education and provides an early foundation for students such
as Francesca Imbrogno and Caitlin Grieve (standing l to r) who hope to become
teachers. The program enables students to spend one day a week in a Torontoarea
elementary or high school. Vic One offers students a distinctive academic
experience with a strong focus on small-group learning. In addition to education,
Vic One offers streams in humanities, social science and history, and life sciences.

all provide smallgroup
learning for
first-year students.
RAYMOND LO
Fourth-year Computer Science student Raymond Lo of
New College was part of a small team that created Glogger,
an Internet and software application that allows people to
broadcast live images and movies from their camera phones
or digital cameras instantly to their website, or their MySpace
or Blogger page. This first-person recording and immediate
broadcasting capability has countless applications from
assisting a service technician with repairs to live virtual
tourism. Canadian Business magazine crowned Glogger
with “highest cool factor” of all innovations featured at the
Department of Computer Science’s inaugural Research in
