Spring like weather greeted a standing room only crowd at <strong>Bieber</strong> <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Angus</strong> who hosted their<br />

34 th annual production sale. Ron <strong>Bieber</strong> greeted the crowd with this comment “ 40 years ago<br />

people would frequently say you breed <strong>Red</strong> what” Cattlemen now recognize <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Angus</strong> as a<br />

breed of choice, because they meet the needs of the cattle industry.” Auctioneer Seth Weishaar<br />

then introduced Craig <strong>Bieber</strong> CEO of <strong>Bieber</strong> <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Angus</strong> and complimented him on the<br />

outstanding job the crew at <strong>Bieber</strong>’s did in preparing the bulls and females for this auction.<br />

Lot 1 a <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Angus</strong> coming 2 year old was sold to Weisbeck & Sons <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Angus</strong> at Herried, S.D.<br />

Lot 1 a High Noon son with outstanding numbers and sold for $6500. Lot 1 was in the top 25% or<br />

better in 7 traits.<br />

Lot 10 a High Noon son out of the Lass cow line was purchased by Hansmeier & Sons of Bristol,<br />

SD for $6500. He has outstanding carcass numbers being in the top 10% for marbling, the top<br />

25% for REA and the top 5% for yearling weight<br />

Jay Wischmeir of Burchard, NE purchased lot 6 a Romero son with great data for $5500. Lot 6 is<br />

in the top 25% or better in 10 traits including maintenance.<br />

Duane Schmaltz, Knoxville, IA. purchased lot 44 for $5250, once again a High Noon son.<br />

The top selling yearling bull at $21,000 went to Tres Marias, Billy Estrada, Durango, Mexico and<br />

Jefferies Land and Cattle, Jerry Jefferies Checotah, OK. Lot 81 is a powerful low birth weight<br />

individual with 9 traits in the top 25% or better with REA in the top 5%. Lot 81 was a well<br />

muscled, extremely correct yearling bull who offers outstanding calving ease. The partnership of<br />

Jeffries and Estrada also purchased lot 52 for $9500. Lot 52 was in the top 25% or better for 10<br />

traits.<br />

Lot 51 sold to Harrison <strong>Ranch</strong> at White River, SD for $9250. The embryo transplant bull is in the<br />

top 25% for 5 traits.<br />

Lot 118 sold to T-N-R <strong>Red</strong>s, Tom and Robyn Ryckman, Pollock, SD for $8000<br />

Harrison <strong>Ranch</strong>, White River, SD also purchased Lot 54 for $6500.<br />

Lot 50 sold for $6000 to Wade and Susie Tucker of Wood, SD.<br />

Hughes Cattle Co, Mark Hughes, Glasgow, Ky. purchased Lot 65 for $5750.<br />

Lot 69 was purchased by Dan Materi, Strasburg, ND for $5500.<br />

Stan Moore purchased Lot 55 for $5500.<br />

Lot 56 was purchased by Hansmeier & Sons, Bristol, SD for $5500.<br />

Hughes Cattle Co, Mark Hughes, Glasgow, Ky. purchased Lots 64 for $5250.


The high selling Black-<strong>Red</strong> <strong>Angus</strong> bulls sold to Hughes Cattle Co, Mark Hughes, Glasgow, KY<br />

purchased Lot 213 for $3750. Hughes Cattle also purchased lot 217 sold for $3250.<br />

Roger Kalsbeck of Bruce, SD purchased Lot 211 for $3000 and Lot 223 for $3500.<br />

The top selling heifers Lot 240 to <strong>Red</strong> Line <strong>Angus</strong>, Jim Nickeson, Veblen S.D. for $2500. and<br />

Lot 257 to Terry Dolan Bereford, SD for $2500<br />

Bar R <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Angus</strong> McHenry, N.D. took Lot 237 for $2400.<br />

Volume heifer buyer was <strong>Red</strong> Line <strong>Angus</strong>, Jim Nickerson, Veblen, S.D. taking 19 head. Anchor<br />

<strong>Ranch</strong>, Ronnie Robinson, Lloyd, MT, 9 head, and Jackson Trail Blazer <strong>Ranch</strong>, Joel Jackson<br />

Terry, MT 7 head.<br />

Volume bull buyers were Randy Shultz of Wessington Springs, S.D. 10 head, S and S Cattle Co.<br />

Aberdeen,S.D.. 12 head, Tres Maria, Billy Estrada, Durango, Mexico 8 head, Hughes Cattle Co,<br />

Mark Hughes, Glasgow, Ky, 6 head.<br />
