Services of Wholeness start
Sept. 23 in Sanctuary
The nine Services of Wholeness for 2012-
13 begin September 23, and each bears
the name of a Biblical title of Jesus, for example,
Good Shepherd, Living Word, The
Way, Healer.
These services are an important part
of the healing ministry of our church and
other churches in Georgetown.
We find Jesus Christ present as Emmanuel,
in Communion, and in the
singing of his praises and assimilating of
his word.
Taize prayer music is performed during
the service and includes tunes with words
that are repeated in a posture of prayer.
Praying through singing has a unique way
of opening us to the presence of God.
The same leaders will continue, with
an added minister, Rev. Amy Forsythe of
First United Methodist, and a new vocal
soloist, Vicki Moffatt.
The services are held in our sanctuary
at 7:30 p.m., and are all on the 4 th Sunday
of the month except the one December 9.
Child care is provided, and we will try to
help with transportation.

the time…It’ll be a great time of study,
rest and play. Pastors Jim and Laurie
Barker will lead us in a study of Psalm

Volunteers needed to build
Habitat home in Georgetown
Williamson County Habitat for Humanity
is building a Habitat home at 1403 Hart
St., Georgetown.
Those of you who have carpentry skills
and/or interest: As your advocate for Habitat
from FPC, I am informing you that here
is an excellent mission opportunity.
After September 8, we can present
ourselves for work individually at the job
site each Wednesday and Saturday
through October. This is excellent flexibility;
come and check us out.
As of the newsletter deadline, preparation
is under way to pour concrete footings.

elected for 2012-13
The congregation elected a nine-member
Church Officer Nominating Committee
for 2012-13 on August 12. They are: Session,
Bill McKenna (Chair) and Courtney
Root (Vice Chair); Diaconate, Lois Stanley;
Trustees, Joe Porch; Presbyterian Women,
Lenice Smithwick; Men’s Christian Fellowship,
Marv Hulshizer; Church School,
Gene Gregory; Logos/Youth, Katie Bradford;
and Music Ministry, Amy Pratt.
