Altar Servers <strong>of</strong> the Month Awards<br />
Altar Servers <strong>of</strong> the Month for June and July have been<br />
announced. Congratulations to:<br />

Both have been serving for approximately 1 and a half<br />
years and have been dependable in their attendance,<br />
attentive to their duties, and prayerful in their participation<br />
in the Mass. Thank you, Cesar and Jairo, for your continued<br />
service at the Altar <strong>of</strong> the Lord!<br />
Tamale Sale Today: The young adult group<br />
Caminando con Cristo is selling their delicious<br />
homemade tamales today after Masses while supplies<br />
last! Funds raised will be used for their upcoming<br />
retreat.<br />

St. Paul Mission Circle extends its deepest<br />
gratitude to the parishioners <strong>of</strong> <strong>Our</strong><br />
<strong>Lady</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Guadalupe</strong> parish for the enthusiastic<br />
and generous response in the<br />
amount <strong>of</strong> $10,587.50 to our recent appeal<br />
on behalf <strong>of</strong> the missionaries we serve.<br />
We are overwhelmed with joy that we will<br />
be able to send them “bonus” checks beyond<br />
our usual monthly donation. We know that the monies<br />
will be well spent on behalf <strong>of</strong> those they serve. Again,<br />
thank you so much for your generous missionary spirit!<br />
2nd Annual Quilt Raffle<br />
The St. Paul Mission Circle ladies have<br />
again sewn a beautiful quilt to be raffled,<br />
with the proceeds to go to the 8 missionaries<br />
we support. A second raffle is <strong>of</strong>fered for<br />
a stunning embroidered table cloth. Tickets will<br />
go on sale in Jason’s Patio at Sunday Masses today,<br />
Aug. 25. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. You may also<br />
contact Betsy King (562) 691-5002 or any Mission Circle<br />
member for more information. We thank our parishioners<br />

district to participate in a historic,<br />
prayerful religious procession hosted<br />
by St. Angela Merici <strong>Church</strong> to Rep.<br />
Royce's <strong>of</strong>fice at 210 W. Birch in Brea (less than one mile<br />
from parish) to urge Rep. Royce to lead on and to vote for<br />
just, compassionate and comprehensive Immigration Reform,<br />
with an earned pathway to citizenship.<br />

Women’s Bible Study at OLG<br />
Join the Women’s Bible Study in reviewing the Scriptural<br />
Study <strong>of</strong> Angels from September 13, 2013, thru May<br />
2014. All levels <strong>of</strong> experience are welcome. Classes are<br />
held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Fridays in the Faith Formation<br />
lounge. The cost for study materials is $60.00 per<br />
person.<br />

The <strong>Catholic</strong> Experience: a small group exploration<br />
<strong>of</strong> the beliefs and practices <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Church</strong>,<br />
through the lens <strong>of</strong> spirituality and psychology, for: adults<br />
thinking about joining the <strong>Church</strong>, <strong>Catholic</strong> adults seeking<br />
Confirmation, returning <strong>Catholic</strong>s, and fully initiated <strong>Catholic</strong>s<br />
who may not have had the opportunity to enrich the<br />
understanding <strong>of</strong> their faith since Confirmation. More information<br />
