La Iglesia de Cristo, ¿Que Es
El 16 de agosto de 2013, la Hermana Katherine “Kit”
Gray, CSJ, habló a casa llena en el Centro Coleman durante
la Serie de Teología de Verano “Backyard” de
nuestra parroquia. El tema principal de su plática fue
sencillo: “La Iglesia de Cristo, ¿qué es La definición que
ella nos ofreció y que ayudó a que los asistentes llegasen
a profundizar su entendimiento fue:
“La Iglesia es el Pueblo de Dios, y lo que ellos/nosotros
hacemos hasta que vuelva Jesús”.
¿Quiénes somos nosotros
Somos el Pueblo de la Iglesia de Cristo en la Diócesis de
Orange en California.
¿Que vamos a hacer
Estamos construyendo una fundación para nuestro futuro
como diócesis por medio del establecimiento de la
Catedral de Cristo.
Como diócesis, consistimos de Capillas, Iglesias Parroquiales,
Basílicas, y ahora, una Catedral que nos teje en
una comunidad de fe. Así como construimos piedra por
piedra, la hermosa parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe,
somos corresponsables de tejer el tejido de
nuestra Catedral Diocesana— nuestra Catedral de Cristo.
La Hermana Kit habló con pasión, con un profundo conocimiento
de nuestra fe, historia y tradiciones. Nos ayudó
a visualizar el movimiento del Espíritu Santo y la sabiduría
de nuestro Obispo en este gran esfuerzo de poner a
Cristo en el centro de nuestra vida espiritual, y de unir
nuestra Diócesis de Orange. La Catedral ya se ha convertido
en el hogar de muchos ministerios y siguen fluyendo
de ella ideas de cómo nos puede servir y bendecir a toda
la comunidad.
¡Por favor, hagan sus promesas ahora, si es que todavía
no lo han hecho, y apoyen esta hazaña histórica! Gracias
por su consideración y oraciones.

2, we will celebrate Labor Day
with one bilingual parish Mass at 9:00
a.m. There will be no 5:30 p.m. Mass on
that Monday.

What is Christ’s Church
On August 16, 2013, Sr. Katherine “Kit” Gray, CSJ, spoke
to a full house in Coleman Center during the OLG Backyard
Theology – Summer Series. The central theme of
her presentaon focused on a simple queson: What is
Christ's Church The definion she embraces and which
brought the crowd to a deeper understanding states
that:
The Church is the people of God
and what they are going to do unl Jesus returns.
Who are we
We are the people of Christ's Church in the Diocese of
Orange, California
What are we going to do
We are building a foundaon for our future as a diocese
through the establishment of the Christ Cathedral.
As a Diocese, we consist of Chapels, Parish Churches,
Basilicas, and now, a Cathedral that weaves us all together
into one community of faith. Just as we built
stone by stone the beauful parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe,
we are equally responsible for weaving the tapestry
of our Diocesan Cathedral – our Christ Cathedral.
Sister Kit spoke with passion, and with deep knowledge
of our faith, history, and tradions. She helped us visualize
the movement of the Holy Spirit and the wisdom of
our Bishop in this great effort to place Christ in the center
of our spiritual lives and bring all of the Diocese of
Orange together. The Cathedral has already become a
home for many ministries and the ideas keep flowing on
how it can serve as a blessing to the enre community.

Tamale Sale Today: The young adult group
Caminando con Cristo is selling their delicious
homemade tamales today after Masses while supplies
last! Funds raised will be used for their upcoming
retreat.

St. Paul Mission Circle extends its deepest
gratitude to the parishioners of Our
Lady of Guadalupe parish for the enthusiastic
and generous response in the
amount of $10,587.50 to our recent appeal
on behalf of the missionaries we serve.
We are overwhelmed with joy that we will
be able to send them “bonus” checks beyond
our usual monthly donation. We know that the monies
will be well spent on behalf of those they serve. Again,
thank you so much for your generous missionary spirit!
2nd Annual Quilt Raffle
The St. Paul Mission Circle ladies have
again sewn a beautiful quilt to be raffled,
with the proceeds to go to the 8 missionaries
we support. A second raffle is offered for
a stunning embroidered table cloth. Tickets will
go on sale in Jason’s Patio at Sunday Masses today,
Aug. 25. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. You may also

Women’s Bible Study at OLG

unas casas para familias de bajos recursos
en varias ciudades en el condado de

asistir a una Orientación que vamos a tener
aquí en el Centro Coleman a las 7:00 p.m.,
el jueves, 29 de Agosto, en Español.
Unos de los requisitos son que tienen que estar aquí en
los Estados Unidos legalmente, vive o trabaja en el Condado
de Orange, y tienen que tener buen crédito y ingresos

Almuerzo de Panqueques
Los Caballeros de Colón estarán ofreciendo
un almuerzo de panqueques y huevos
el domingo, 8 de septiembre, empezando
después de la Misa de 6:30 a.m.
hasta 11:30 a.m. También ofreceremos
chorizo y huevos. La donación será $5.00 por adultos,
$4.00 por niños menores de 12 años y $16.00 por familias
de 4 o más (máximo de 8).
Lo que se recaude del almuerzo beneficiará nuestro
apoyo continuo a dos seminaristas de la localidad y otros
programas que apoyamos.
El Canto del Agnus Dei (Cordero de Dios)
Después del cambio del signo de paz durante la misa,
el sacerdote que preside rompe el Pan Eucarístico, pone
un pedazo de la hostia en el cáliz para significar la unidad
del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo por el trabajo de la salvación,
y comienza a dividir las hostias entre el ciborio en la
preparación para la distribución a la gente. En términos
litúrgicos, este es llamado el Rito de Fracción. Cuando el
sacerdote (asistido quizás por un diácono) hace esto, otro
diácono o un ministro extraordinario de la Sagrada Comunión
dispersa la Sangre de Cristo en varios cálices en el
altar. El ruego Agnus Dei (el Cordero de Dios) es por lo
general cantado por el coro o cantor con los fieles cantándola
o puede ser recitado en voz alta. Esta invocación
acompaña la fracción del pan y, por esta razón, puede ser
repetida varias veces si es necesario hasta que el rito haya
sido concluido. Al final siempre concluye con las palabras
"danos la paz.” [El Misal Romano, #56e]
A fin de seguir más estrechamente esta instrucción,
hemos comenzado a cantar el Agnus Dei (el Cordero de
Dios) las invocaciones que se terminan con "ten piedad de
nosotros” tres veces, y concluyendo con una cuarta invocación
que se termina con las palabras “danos la paz.”
Para nuestras Misas de fin de semana este parece ser
suficiente para acompañar el rito entero. En algunas ocasiones,
tendremos que añadir más invocaciones que se
terminan con "ten piedad de nosotros” cuando el rito sea
más largo debido al número de asistencia de feligreses.
Cuando este sea el caso, nuestro cantor será nuestro
guía.

Pro-life Americans throughout the country will gather
at the gravesites of aborted babies and other memorial
sites dedicated in their honor for the National Day of Remembrance
for Aborted Children on September 14. Solemn
vigils will be held at these sites to commemorate the
more than 50 million children who have lost their lives to
legal abortion since 1973, and to remind society of the
humanity of the unborn child.
