The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has requested to submit nominations for the above
seminar from the eligible Government Officials of Sri Lanka. The GI Booklet and the Application Form
submitted by JICA in this regard are enclosed for your information please.
You are kindly requested to submit a nomination in line with the required qualifications mentioned in the
"Nominee Qualifications" of the GI Booklet submitted by JICA, along with a copy of the following
documents on or before 03 rd May 2012.
1. The duly filled prescribed Application Form for "JICA Training and Dialog Program" (hand written
applications will not be accepted) - Application Form can be downloaded from ERD public website.
2. Country and Job Report
3. Copies of the certificates of Academic and Professional Qualifications
4. Copy of the Nominee's English Score Sheet (e.g. TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS)
5. Copy of the relevant pages of the Passport
6. ERD Form 2 (Original only)
Please note that re-nomination of an official, already trained under a JICA program will not be qualified for
another JICA training program within five (5) years of such training. You are kindly informed that
nominations received after the closing date ofERD will not be considered.

GTC : STOCK MANAGEMENT AND ENHANCEMENT IN THE SEA
COURSE NO; J-12-00665
This is to inform you that Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will consider completed
applications of qualified participants nominated by the Government of the Democratic Socialist
Republic of Sri Lanka for the above Technical Training Course.
The duration of the training course is from 10 th July 2012 N 28 th October 2012.
The participants for the above course should be nominated in accordance with the General
Information (GI) regulations. Eight copies of the General Information (GI) booklets are attached
for distribution to the relevant authorities.
To further expedite the selection process, let us suggest the following institution/s as below
mentioned, which are assumed to be eligible in line with the stipulations given in the GI.
• National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA)

• Ocean University of Sri Lanka
• Department of Fisheries
This program aims to contribute to strengthen the capacity of the government for the disaster
response and risk management in the fisheries sector.
Please ma.ke necessary arrangements to submit duly completed following documents to reach

JICA Sri Lanka office on or before 11 May 2012.
• Duly filled prescribed Application Form (New Official Application attached)
• Copy of the passport( if available)
• Country Report and Job Report
• Nominee's English Score Sheet along with the application form
In respect to application forms, kindly advise the nominee to use the same name order given in
the passport, where JICA shall use the same in producing documents relevant to visa application
after his/her acceptance by JICA. Kindly note that, any discrepancy on the above information
may even relate to not been able to obtain visa by the nominee.
Hence, kindly make sure on the accuracy of the above information, and in case passports are not
available at the time of the application, please advise the respective parties to issue the passport
as per the order given in the application. (Only after obtainment of the acceptance tetter by JICA).

In addition, kindly instruct the nominating organizations to share the General Information
Booklets and its content with the nominee in prior to sending the application to JICA, where JICA
shall make interviews based on the content of the respective GIs.
Please note that nomination received after the closing date will not be considered for the above
training.
