In the present study gender of the subjects has produced significant effect on the level of the
mental health. These findings gain strength from results of studies conducted by Srivastava (1987) Nanda
(2001) and Ravichandarn (2007). One of the possible reasons for the gender difference in mental health
status could be that female teachers the burden of dual responsibilities of home and education compare to
male. Several other researches supported the present research.
The effect of college teachers on mental health has not found significance because various junior
colleges attached to senior college. Both the teachers college levels and their educational qualification are
same as well as interaction effects of teachers and gender it was found no significance.
