Whitley Academy Student Reporters:
Our Diary Snapshot
September 2011: It’s time for recruiting new
student reporters. 27 names were given. It’s such
a positive response!
October 2011: We decided to run 6 BBC lessons
on after-school Mondays so that students didn’t
lose out in their lessons. It would be for one term
only. Unfortunately some students prefer doing
their after-school activities, we are now have 13
confident new students reporters of Year 7. It
brings the total team members to 28! It’s the 2 nd
year we are such a BIG team!
13th October: to City centre to film for our clip on
‘Coventry My City’.
14th November: interviewed Joan before her BIG
Performance on BBC One for Children-in-Need
16th November: interviewed Lord Coe of the
Olympics 2012 at Perryfields School in
Birmingham
18th November: reported for BBC School Report
Practice Day.
Calling all parents: Volunteer is needed!
If you are interested in some volunteer work in the
Learning Resource Centre for the coming school
year (2011 – 2012), please contact Mrs Nguyen on
02476302580 (ext 228).
Proper training will be provided. It is a brilliant
opportunity for those who want to work with
youngsters and promote reading to them.
