2 INTRODUCTION<br />
Government launched the combined Rural-Urban<br />
<strong>Socio</strong> <strong>Economic</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Caste</strong> <strong>Census</strong> (<strong>SECC</strong>) in June’<br />
<strong>2011</strong> with following objectives:<br />
‣ To rank Households (HHs) based on their socioeconomic<br />
status.<br />
‣ To make available caste wise population<br />
enumeration <strong>of</strong> the country.<br />
‣ To make available information on socioeconomic<br />
condition <strong>and</strong> education status <strong>of</strong><br />
various castes <strong>and</strong> sections <strong>of</strong> the population.<br />

Administrative Machinery for Settlement <strong>of</strong> Claims &<br />
Objections process<br />
• Ward Level Officer (WLO) such as ward revenue<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficer, junior engineer, sanitary supervisor etc.<br />
supported by an Assistant to receive Claims <strong>and</strong><br />
Objection form.<br />
• One or more suitable <strong>of</strong>ficers for one or more Ward (s)<br />
senior to the <strong>of</strong>ficers designated to receive claims <strong>and</strong><br />
objections for disposing <strong>of</strong>f the same.<br />
• Suitable senior <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> an appropriate rank (not<br />
below that <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>ficers disposing claims <strong>and</strong><br />
objections) at the District/City/Town level to take<br />
decisions at the appellate level.<br />

the designated place where claims <strong>and</strong> objections forms are<br />
to be received.<br />
