"Jarvisfield" was granted to Henry, the "original 

Antill" by Gov. L. Macquarie. 

1852: after a full life Henry died at Javisfield. 

The Antill Family Mauseleum at Picton is "Vault Hill". 

Legend has it that the Antill's were buried upright. 

His sons's were educated at 'The Kings School' at Parramatta. 

One son was evidently 'wayward', for he turned Bushranger 

(robber - highwayman). Eventually he was sentenced 

to 15 years hard labor, with the first year 

to be served in irons (leg-irons).

927: Athelstan invaded Northumbria & expelled 

Guthfrith and Olaf, Sihtric's son. He entered York, demolished 

the Scandinavian fortifications & destributed the loot that he 

found there among his army. For the first time a Southern 

King ruled from York. To maintain that rule meant the north 

& south were at war for the next quarter of a century. 

Athelstan drove north to Bamburgh where Ealdred (Eadulf, 

Edulf) was brought under his control. Athelstan continued 

into Scotland where he burned and pillaged while Constantine 

could only look on. By 937 his rule covered all of modern 

England over which he was more 'emporer' than 'king'. 

The Northern kings formed a grand alliance and marched 

south to meet Athelstan & his forces at a place called 

Brunanburgh. Athelstan attached first with a dawn 

assault. The battle raged until late in the day. The 

northern rebellion was shattered (a). 

939: Athelstan died and left the throne to 

his half-brother Edmund (Eadmund), 

a young man of 18 years (a).
