SR. Portfolio Manager<br />
As the SR Portfolio Manager for Global Access <strong>to</strong> Sport [A2S], you are a critical member of the<br />
Investment <strong>portfolio</strong> team with the same central mandate as everyone else on the team: turn every<br />
Nike dollar in<strong>to</strong> $100. Leverage Leverage Leverage - beyond what will be under your direct control <strong>to</strong><br />
deliver exponential impact on achieving the new global A2S mission.<br />
The unique opportunity of this role is that the new mission of Global A2S is in its early days of<br />
development. You, <strong>to</strong>gether with the other core team members, will be a vital part of sharpening the<br />
overall strategy as the work unfolds and developing and executing against the priorities that result.<br />
The overall goal is <strong>to</strong> harness Nike's vast assets and resources <strong>to</strong> invest with others <strong>to</strong> get the world <strong>to</strong><br />
move again. Too much of modern society has fallen in<strong>to</strong> sedentary, inactive lifestyles and we are only<br />
just beginning <strong>to</strong> grasp the consequences <strong>to</strong> society of that ongoing trend. The impact on the next<br />
generation of kids is disproportionate - their physical and mental wellbeing is compromised from an<br />
early age and their opportunity <strong>to</strong> reach their full potential significantly stifled without dramatic<br />
efforts <strong>to</strong> reverse the normalization of inactivity, and lack of <strong>access</strong> <strong>to</strong> play & <strong>sport</strong>.<br />
The new core start up team will need <strong>to</strong> be poised <strong>to</strong> deliver very quickly against a bold and<br />
ambitious vision. All players on the team require high levels of intellectual (analytical & creative)<br />
capacity, proven expertise in diverse internal/ external relationship management, strong aptitude for<br />
innovation, flexibility in experience and competency and consistency in delivering high quality<br />
results.<br />
Specifically, you report in<strong>to</strong> the Investment Direc<strong>to</strong>r and will be accountable for supporting the A2S<br />
investment <strong>portfolio</strong> strategy, process and execution of the investment <strong>portfolio</strong> <strong>to</strong> maximize<br />
learnings, scale, leverage and impact. You will design and make investment recommendations<br />
typically through significant liaison and counsel from external specialists; the investments will
ecome a key global source of best practices on delivery of <strong>sport</strong> programs, and other broad based<br />
physical activity programs. You will also direct all aspects of a <strong>portfolio</strong> of grantee and external<br />
partnership relationships including but not limited <strong>to</strong>: programmatic advice, partnership<br />
communications, alignment with measurement & evaluation frameworks, funds flow checkpoints,<br />
investment progress updates and administration. You will coordinate with other key parts of the<br />
Nike organization such as the SB&I lab, SB&I marketplace, N7 team and other groups where<br />
synergies and investments can be co-leveraged, or best practices shared.<br />
Qualifications<br />
Requirements for the position include:<br />
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Strategic Planning, Investment Management or International<br />
Development.<br />
• Masters or post-graduate study preferred.<br />
• At least twelve <strong>to</strong> ten years of business management experience required.<br />
• Proven experience managing all aspects of a high impact investment <strong>portfolio</strong>, including program<br />
design, impact evaluation framework, communications opportunities, long term financial planning.<br />
• Excellent understanding of advocacy strategies and how they influence the investment process.<br />
• Proven experience engaging diverse stakeholders in public and private sec<strong>to</strong>r (multinational and<br />
bilateral organizations, national governments, private donors, research organizations, academic<br />
institutions, and non-governmental organizations).<br />
• Understanding of global consumer trends and markets would be a strong asset.<br />
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability <strong>to</strong> conduct / facilitate<br />
meetings / strategy sessions.<br />
• Ability <strong>to</strong> effectively communicate complex and/or controversial <strong>to</strong>pics and concepts <strong>to</strong> a wide and<br />
diverse audience.<br />
• Ability <strong>to</strong> effectively elevate strategic concerns <strong>to</strong> <strong>senior</strong> management in a timely and accurate<br />
manner.<br />
• Prior experience leading cross-team collaboration.<br />
• Demonstrated leadership in fostering continuous learning and team empowerment and<br />
involvement.<br />
