Good reasons to do business with the German<br />

1. Sustainability: Germany’s forests hold<br />
with 3.4 billion m 3 the largest stocks of<br />
wood in Europe. This potential may be<br />
used without reservations, as forestry in<br />
Germany is in full compliance with the<br />
rigid environmental legislation. 70 percent<br />
of the over 11 million hectare of forest<br />
land are already certified (PEFC, FSC).<br />
It is also <strong>de</strong>sirable to increase the use of<br />
wood taking the current <strong>de</strong>bate on<br />
resource <strong>pr</strong>otection and climate change<br />
into account. Sustainable forestry and the<br />
use of wood lead to an effective reduction<br />
of the green house gas carbon dioxi<strong>de</strong><br />

They manufacture a wi<strong>de</strong> range of<br />
high-quality softwood lumber <strong>pr</strong>oducts to<br />

with national and international<br />
standards (European, US, JAS, etc.).<br />
3. Quality: One third of the German<br />
sawmill <strong>pr</strong>oduction is exported, making<br />
the industry a leading <strong>pr</strong>oducers of lumber<br />
in Europe. The export share is growing<br />
due to state-of-the-art cutting technology<br />
and on-going investments in <strong>pr</strong>oduct<br />
quality.<br />
4. Diversified <strong>pr</strong>oduct range: German<br />
sawmills <strong>pr</strong>oduce both standard dimensions<br />
and special assortments, in lengths<br />
of 6 to 10 meters or up to 18 meters if<br />
required.<br />
5. Technology: High-quality surfaces and<br />
close dimensional tolerances are typical of<br />
the lumber <strong>pr</strong>oducts supplied from<br />
Germany. Today's mo<strong>de</strong>rn cutting and<br />
<strong>pr</strong>ofiling systems were <strong>de</strong>veloped and<br />
tested in Germany.<br />
High-performance planing and fingerjointing<br />
lines as well as kiln drying and<br />
high-<strong>pr</strong>essure im<strong>pr</strong>egnation with chromate-free<br />
wood <strong>pr</strong>eservative salts set<br />
standards in sawmill technology and environmental<br />
competence worldwi<strong>de</strong>.<br />
