II. APPLICATION OF RATES
LOCAL EXCHANGE SERVICE
A. General
T
1. The rates and charges listed in this section apply to the
T
local exchange service provided by the Cooperative in its
service area which is specified by the Cooperative’s
exchange service area maps, approved and on file with the
Public Utility Commission of Texas.
The telecommunications services described in this section
are subject to the other rates, charges, rules and
regulations of the Local Exchange Tariff in its current
form or as it may be revised in the future.
2. The local exchange service rates and charges specified in T
this section are for basic local exchange service and
facilities only. The rates for other ancillary services or
facilities not specifically shown in this section are
presented in other sections of this tariff.
3. Unless otherwise specified, the rates and charges quoted T
in this section are for a minimum period of one month,
payable in advance and provide unlimited flat rate calling
within the exchange area.
4. Local access trunks are required for local access T
connections terminating in, or for use with, customerprovided
premises equipment with switching (Private Branch
Exchange or PBX). For applicable trunk charges, see the
PBX Trunk rates as shown in Part III, Page 5 of this
Section.
5. Party line service will be furnished to applicants only
T
where facilities necessitate this type of service. The
Cooperative may deem it necessary to connect business and
residence access lines to the same party line service.
6. Downgrading of telephone service, when necessary to T M
provide service to a new applicant, will be on a temporary
basis only. The initial grade of service will be restored
as soon as facilities become available. Affected customers
will be notified before downgrading occurs.
