West Bengal Agro Industries Corporation Ltd. invites sealed tender from reliable
and bonafide Transport Contractors for transportation of Agriculture Machinery &
Implements, Pumpsets etc. from Kolkata to different District Offices of the
Corporation in West Bengal. The tender documents along with terms and
conditions etc. may be obtained from the above address on payment of Rs.300/-
(Three Hundred)+ VAT upto 16-11-2012 between 11.00 A.M. to 3.00 P.M.
The date of submission of tender is 21-11-2012 upto 2.00 P.M.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TENDER
FOR SELECTION OF RELIABLE AND BONAFIDE TRANSPORT
CONTRACTORS FOR TRANSPORTATION OF AGRILCUTURAL
MACHINERY, IMPLEMENTS PUMPSETS ETC.
1. Sealed tenders are invited by the Executive Engineer, West Bengal Agro
Industries Corporation Ltd. (WBAIC Ltd.) in prescribed format as per
Annexure – 1 from the reliable and bonafide transporter/fleet owners.
2. Tender documents will be available from the Executive Engineer, Project
Division of WBAIC Ltd. by cash payment of 300/- (Three hundred only)
+ 4% VAT on all working days between 12.00 Hrs. to 15.00 Hrs. from
05-11-2012 to 16-11-2012. No tender documents will be sold after 16-11-2012.
Request for sending tender documents by post/courier service will not be
entertained.
3. Filled up tender shall have to be submitted in sealed cover superscribing
“TENDER FOR” TRANSPORTATION” in the tender box kept in the office
of Managing Director, WBAIC Ltd., 23B, Netaji Subhas Road, 3 rd floor,
Kolkata – 700001 upto 14.00 Hrs. on 21-11-2012. Tender paper will not be
received after stipulated date and time.
4. Earnest money for Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand) in the form of Bank
Draft/Pay Order in favour of West Bengal Agro-Industries Corporation Ltd.
payable at kolkata shall have to be deposited along with tender, failing which
the tender shall be rejected and cancelled.
5. Registered SSI Units with incorporation of transport work are only
exempted from submission of earnest money but they should submit attested
copy of SSI Certificate for the above work. Earlier earnest money deposit
lying with this Corporation, if any, will not be considered against this tender.

6. Earnest money of successful tenderer will be converted into security deposit .
The earnest money or security deposit as the case may be, will not carry any
interest for any period whatsoever.
7. The earnest money of the unsuccessful tenderers will be refunded
immediately after finalization of tender on their written request for such
refund.
8. Registered SSI Units who are exempted from depositing earnest money will
have to submit compulsory security deposit of Rs.5,000/- before execution of
agreement if their offer is accepted.
9. Tender will not be received by post or courier service.
10. No conditional rate will be accepted.
11. Tenderers should submit/furnish self attested copy of Trade License,
Professional Tax Certificate, PAN & VAT .
12. The rates should be quoted both in figures and words showing VAT.
13. The tender shall be valid for 12 months from the date of acceptance of tender
(extendable for further one year in case of satisfactory performance).
14. The tenderer should submit documentary evidence showing past experience
in line, owning or commanding number of matadors or and truck and bank
owning reference.
15. The tenderer should give the matador and/or truck numbers which they are
having while quoting the rates.
16. The materials will be insured under open transit insurance policy. The
transporter shall issue damage, theft, burglary etc. certificate if occurred
while on transport within seven days from the date of occurrence. In case of
theft, burglary, accident etc. the same should be reported to the nearest
Police Station and FIR should be submitted immediately to the consignor i.e.
Assistant Engineer/Executive Engineer, WBAIC Ltd., 14, New Taratala
Road, Kolkata-700 088 & 23B, Netaji Subhas Road, 3 rd floor, Kolkata – 700
001. Bills of the transport will be paid only after receipt of such certificate
and a copy of FIR lodged.
17. The successful tenderers will have to execute an agreement with this
Corporation on suitable terms and conditions within a specified time
otherwise the security deposit will be forfeited.

18. If the selected contractor is found guilty of misconduct or responsible for
unsatisfactory execution of order, the Corporation shall have the liberty to
terminate the contract and forfeit the whole or part of the security
deposit/outstanding bills as compensation for the damage sustained by the
Corporation.
19. The rates should be applicable for lifting the materials from any other
godown/factory within Kolkata in place of lifting the same from Central
Stores of the Corporation at Taratala.
20. The selected contractor will have to place one or more Matador(s) or
Truck(s) at our Central Store at Taratala or any other godown/factory in
Kolkata immediately after receipt of order from the Executive
Engineer/Assistant Engineer Taratala Central Store or any other responsible
officer of the Corporation.
21. The payment will be made against each work order in full with statutory
deductions after completion of transport and submission of bills in triplicate
supported by receipted original challan(s) copies of order and supporting
papers (if any) issued for that particular work.
22. The tender should be completed in all respect without any hedge or
overwriting.
23. The Corporation reserves the right to accept or reject any/all tender(s)
whatsoever without assigning any reason thereof and also reserves the right
to distribute the works among one or more contractor(s) at the accepted rate.
24. The Corporation is not bound to accept the lowest tender.
25. The tenderers shall mention the acceptance of the terms and conditions while
quoting the rates.
26. The tender will be opened in presence of the attending tenderers or their
authorized representative at 14.30 hours on 21-11-2012.
