ADL SCORM 2004 Demonstration: ISWS Course Conversion Lessons Learned<br />
Consensus of the team is that the functionalities inherent in SCORM 2004 will prove to be<br />
extremely beneficial as the development community matures in its understanding of the<br />
specification and LMSs, tools, and models that can support SCORM 2004 become more<br />
plentiful. In the future, databases of content, in the form of SCOs and Assets, will populate<br />
manifests – change the manifest, and you change the course. The power of this instructional tool<br />
in appropriate training situations will be significant.<br />
In summary, this conversion of the SCORM 1.2 conformant ISWS course to SCORM 2004<br />
demonstrates both the complexity and the power of the new specification, advancing ADL’s goal<br />
of creating tools and a development environment that still stimulate conversion of existing<br />
content and creation of new training content.<br />
