Make a Connection!
• Would you like to have an assignment in one class count as
an assignment in another class
• Have you ever wanted to see how the skills you learn in one
class relate to another
• Would you like to take two classes back-to-back and have
the same students in both classes, creating natural study
groups
If you enroll in a learning community,
you can have all of this and more!
In a learning community, you will join a group of students who will take these two
courses together. You learn to make connections between the subjects and with fellow
students. Instructors work together to connect content, activities, and assignments.
These two classes are co-requisites, so you have to enroll in both to be in the learning
community. Learning communities are grouped with their companion course in the
learning community section of the schedule.

The work in both classes are usually related. It gives you better
preparation time. Longer class time helps when working on projects,
and the same classmates makes it easier to ask for help.
In an LCOM, I learned how different classes and concepts go together.
