The gold standard for CCD-based RGB fluorescence detection
Approved for
Octoplus fluorescence imager
For powerful & fast 2D image acquisition
Accurately analyzing fluorescent labeled proteins requires a high performing imaging system.
The new OCTOPLUS FLUORESCENCE IMAGER has been specifically developed for experiments
with powerful Refraction-2D and Saturn-2D technologies.
The system combines the fast image acquisition of fluorescent gels and blots with high sensitivity
and robust setup required for daily routine. Thereby, the OCTOPLUS FLUORESCENCE
IMAGER sets a unique standard for fast fluorescence multiplex 2D imaging as well as ECL,
and optionally for silver- or Coomassie® blue stained gels.
1D Fluorescence Imaging
The OCTOPLUS power LED module with diffuser lenses excites up to 4 different fluorophores.
Highly specific excitation and emission filters avoid any crosstalk issues. Figure 1
shows 4 differently fluorescent labeled proteins separated by SDS-PAGE and imaged by
OCTOPLUS. Complex samples of less than 1 µg of protein can be analyzed with high
accuracy (fig. 2).
Signal sensitivity & linearity
The OCTOPLUS system detects fluorescent signals from minimally labeled proteins (one
fluorophore per protein) in the lower nanogram range. Even in this range, the signal
linearity remains at an ideal level (R 2 = 0.996 [fig.3.]).
2D Fluorescence imaging
The OCTOPLUS FLUORESCENCE IMAGER is especially designed for Refraction-2D and
Saturn-2D multiplex fluorescence 2D gel analysis. The powerful combination of carefully
developed system components for fluorescence light excitation and detection create a
perfect system for sensitive image acquisition.
Scanning time for a single Refraction-2D gel (images for G-Dye100, G-Dye200 and
G-Dye300) is performed within minutes. A complete series of gels (e.g. six Refraction-2D
gels) can be scanned in less than one hour.
Image capture software
The image acquisition is performed by the easy-to-use OCTOPLUS image capture software.
Your raw image data are saved and a copy is taken for further analysis by 1D and 2D
software. This data separation allows you to always revert back to your original images.
