The Peer Mentor scheme is run by a group of our students in
years 10 and 11
A Peer Mentor …………
� Has a badge so you can easily recognise them,
� Is ready to help you and your friends if needed,
� Can be found in Room 4.6 every lunchtime and in the quad under the
sheltered area at break for a chat, games, directions etc.,
� Is aware of what it is like to be in a new strange school,
� Has attended a full training course in listening skills and is able to help
you with any problems you may have….

Film-a-thon
Year 10 & 11 Peer Mentors took part in a
Film-a-thon to raise much needed funds for
equipment and games to help their fellow
students.
The idea came from the mentors who came into
school on a training day from 8:30 a.m. ~ 6:30 p.m. and watched a good few
Happy Potter movies! Some of the mentors got into the spirit of the event by
dressing up. Pictured above are Alex, Lacey, Jade, Chloe, Zoe, Latona & Hannah.
Lacey and Hannah said “it was a long day but very rewarding, We enjoyed
watching all the films and it was a good way to raise much needed money”.

ANTI BULLYING
AWARD
As previous winners of the 2010 Prestigious Princess Diana Anti
Bullying Award, Rhyl High School Peer Mentors continue to
support, mentor all students who have been a victim of verbal,
cyber, physical bullying; in conjunction with senior staff.
