The Regional <strong>Transportation</strong> Plan (Plan 2040) is a required<br />
product of the metropolitan transportation planning process<br />
It is long range (20 years or more)<br />
It covers every mode of transportation eligible for Federal<br />

From walking and bicycling to highways, transit services, as well as<br />
waterborne and freight transportation<br />
It covers the entire NYMTC region & represents the Shared<br />
Vision of the Principals<br />

been developed and are under internal review<br />
Extensive public outreach conducted over Sept-Oct<br />
2012 mainly through open-houses conducted across<br />
the region and use of an internet-based platform<br />
All comments received will be considered by NYMTC<br />
members over the next three weeks<br />
Some disruption in progress due to hurricane Sandy
