sacrifice for other great icons <strong>to</strong> transform <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> great leaders. Stat<strong>in</strong>g various reasons of economic<br />

turmoil, he asked the youngsters <strong>to</strong> use the downturn <strong>to</strong> come out on <strong>to</strong>p.<br />

3. Sleeves Rolled Up………Learn<strong>in</strong>gs on Job by Mr. Bhargav Dasgupta, MD & CEO, ICICI<br />

Lombard General Insurance Co. - Learn<strong>in</strong>g starts from birth and cont<strong>in</strong>ues till death. Mr. Dasgupta<br />

shared his thoughts by aim<strong>in</strong>g on the learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> management and the learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> leadership. He<br />

brought <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> limelight the key lessons <strong>in</strong> management which comprises of “strategy” but is not<br />

executed or implemented properly, thus becom<strong>in</strong>g root of every problem. Further creat<strong>in</strong>g the right<br />

team and empower<strong>in</strong>g them, shall ultimately result <strong>in</strong> execution, which is the need of the hour.<br />

Mukundan, MD, Tata Chemicals - Expla<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the fundamentals of why change is needed the<br />

discussion was around three hypothesis which are i) <strong>Leaders</strong> have no choice but <strong>to</strong> change<br />

constantly. ii) One cannot change if he is not conv<strong>in</strong>ced and passionate about it. iii) As leaders, you<br />

need <strong>to</strong> nurture future leaders.<br />

5. The Challenge of Fast Chang<strong>in</strong>g Consumers by Mr. Shipad Nadkarni, Founder Direc<strong>to</strong>r<br />

Market Gate Consult<strong>in</strong>g- The Session described the process of change <strong>in</strong> <strong>India</strong>n consumer over a<br />

period and how does one address the issue of this fast chang<strong>in</strong>g consumer. To design a strategy,<br />

the key question <strong>to</strong> be asked is “who are we here for” Marketers should understand consumer<br />

and their cultural context. Compar<strong>in</strong>g the culture of east and west he said that the west<br />

emphasizes on <strong>in</strong>dividualism and not collectivism whereas east believes <strong>in</strong> that your own action<br />
