Increasing demand for Conductor Installation
Great Yarmouth, launching its first apprentice
scheme and making two key personnel
appointments overseas.
The Acteon company provides conductor
installation services associated with construction
projects for the oil and gas industry.
Great Yarmouth man Phil Borley has been
promoted to the post of Middle East and North
Africa operations manager, responsible for the
He launched his career in the oil and gas
industry with BJ Tubular Services in 2001 in
Great Yarmouth, where he worked in hammer
among others.
Meanwhile Jonathan Bullock has been
appointed business development manager –
experience in the civil engineering sector,
Yarmouth-based Andy Penman, group
managing director, said: “I’m confident that
with their unique competencies and proven
track records, Phil and Jon will help strengthen
our presence in the more mature regions, and
successfully penetrate emerging markets.”
The company’s first apprentice scheme
allows trainees to earn while they learn
valuable on-the-job skills. Since its launch last
winter, CIS has welcomed two apprentices:
Tamara Bustos, an apprentice receptionist and
administrator from Great Yarmouth College,
and Steven Hindry, an apprentice accountant
from Norwich City College.
Earlier this year, CIS moved into a
new headquarters at the Eurocentre, Great
Yarmouth, which serves as a global operations
centre, providing greater resources and services
for customers involved in construction
of, for example, new wells, platforms, bridges
and jetties.
