Free bbq
raises money
It seems a contradiction
in terms, but the
complimentary barbeque
held at Winston High
School Saturday, June 5
brought in around $800.
People’s generous silver
donations were likely
brought on both by the
good cause and the
great weather that day.
Rene Hopfner representing
Safeway stores of Saskatchewan
was on hand at Camp
Easter Seal May 27 to advise
her company's commitment of
$80,000 for a full access playground
at the camp. Saskatchewan
Abilities Council CEO Ian
Wilkinson was very pleased to
accept the pledge as he spoke
to the many Safeway representatives
present and the
camp's summer councillors. A
large contingent from Safeway
was on hand to begin sorting
out and actually assembling
sections of the playground
equipment, which will add
greatly to the campers’ experience
this summer and at future
camps.
