NeckarPark Stuttgart is one of the biggest 

and most attractive event sites in Europe.

the district of Bad Cannstatt: the Gottlieb- 

Daimler-Stadium, the Carl Benz Center, 

the Mercedes Benz Museum and the

Extensively modernised and enlarged in 

2006, the 15,500 capacity Hanns-Martin- 

Schleyer-Halle is the largest indoor arena in 

south Germany. When officially opened in 

1983 it was Europe’s first multi-functional 

hall and together with the Porsche-Arena, 

which opened in May 2006, it forms a unique 

hall duo in the whole of Europe. Take 

a closer look and immerse yourself in a hall 

complex that is unique and doubly good.

A light-flooded and airy lobby unites both 

halls. The elongated Porsche-Arena is 

elegantly connected to the glass construction 

through which people stream 

into both halls. Flexibility is the key and 

this is also mirrored in the diversity of the

The Porsche-Arena with a capacity of approximately 

7,500 is especially suited for 

smaller and more intimate concerts and 

shows. Stars and groups from Reamonn, 

Nelly Furtado, Sportfreunde Stiller to Toto 

or comedians such as Mario Barth are 

only an arms length away here. Music, 

dance, ice-skating and television shows 

– it doesn’t matter whether it's Bahrati,

German “Verstehen Sie Spaß?” television 

show or celebrity artistic gymnastics – the 

Porsche-Arena provides each and every 

one with the best facilities for their various 

requirements and backdrops.

The diversity of events can be enjoyed as a 

double pack in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer- 

Halle and the Porsche-Arena whereby the 

prerequisite is a perfect and professional 

organisational structure. Working behind 

the scenes, it ensures major performances 

go off smoothly. This applies to a special 

degree to company presentations, 

congresses, annual general meetings and 

party conferences. An outstanding example 

is the Porsche Annual General Meeting, 

which, combined with a big presentation 

in the Schleyer-Halle, celebrated its 

premiere in the Porsche-Arena. 

The hall duo functions in a variety of ways. 

Spotlight on for a concert in the Schleyer- 

Halle and at the same time a first-class 

handball or ice-hockey match in the 

Porsche-Arena. Or elegant ballroom 

dancing in one hall and breathtaking jumps 

at the ADAC Super Cross in the other.

The flexibility of both halls knows virtually 

no limits thanks to the short changeover 

times and everything remains high speed. 

The Porsche-Arena was a cauldron for the 

Handball World Championship matches 

whilst at the same time cyclists set off for 

the Madison around the Schleyer-Halle’s 

wooden track at the Hofbräu 6 Day Race. 

Sport is more centre stage in the Porsche 

Arena. It’s where women tennis players 

have had to play on ice. Obviously not 

directly but the permanently installed fro- 

anD alWaYS aT hiGh SpeeD 

zen surface makes it easy to stage ice 

hockey matches and shows like Holiday 

on Ice. It means an ice rink can be conjured 

up quickly in the arena. No matter 

what the show or sport it is – the audience 

is always close to the action.

When the gun or the gong goes off then it’s 

all action in the hall duo in NeckarPark 

Stuttgart. For more than 20 years the Hanns- 

Martin-Schleyer-Halle has been one of the 

major European addresses for top level 

national and international sport: the Hofbräu 

6 Day Race, the Sparkassen-Cup athletics 

and the international Stuttgart German 

Masters Horse Show enjoy worldwide 

recognition and are amongst Stuttgart’s 

sporting highlights. Many world and 

European champions have been crowned in 

Stuttgart and celebrated by the crowd in the 

Schleyer-Halle cauldron. 

As far as architecture and multi-functionality 

are concerned, the Porsche-Arena is a real 

highlight. And it’s something sports like

handball, basketball, volleyball, tennis, 

dancing and boxing, for which the hall is 

predestined, profit from. There are seats 

for up to 6,200 spectators, who, as a 

result of the steeply banked stands, are 

close to the action in the approximately 

2000 m² infield. Spectators can look 

forward to a great atmosphere and a live 

experience in a class of its own. A special 

architectural feature of the arena: the lightflooded 

outer passageways and the foyer 

create a convivial atmosphere and offer 

anD cloSe To The acTion 

spectators interesting internal and external 

views. But, depending on the event, 

the Porsche-Arena can be completely 

darkened to turn it into a “black box”.

The hall Duo FroM 1 To 0 

SchleYer-halle 

Room 1: 750 m² Room 1 is 4 metres high. It can be easily 

utilised from the Porsche-Arena via the foyer (level 0). 

Room 2: Room 2 totals 730 m² and is 3.5 metres high. 

Room 3: totalling 1,150 m², it is the second biggest room 

and is 4.5 metres high. 

Room 4: between the Mercedesstraße and the Benzstraße, 

Room 4 marks the end of the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. Its 

floor space amounts to 1,220 m² and has a height of 

6 metres. It can be used separately for individual events and 

exhibitions. It can be accessed via an additional entrance 

near Room 3. 

Room 5: Room 5 is situated immediately above Room 3 on 

level 2. Its floor space measures 916 m² and it has a height of 

5 metres. As a result of the many glass surfaces it is a bright 

room with daylight. 

Room 6: Room 6 was built on the Benzstraße side of the hall 

after the modernisation. It measures 218 m² and is about 3.5 

metres high. 

Warm-up hall: situated on level 0, it has over 280 m². It 

offers direct access to the arena and can be used as a press 

centre. 

TV, press: broadcasting facilities and press seating are 

situated on level 3. The press area offers 40 permanent seats 

with tables. 

“Glaskanzel”: the glass fronted rooms on level 3 provide a 

direct view of the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle’s floor space. 

They can be used separately or as a pair for receptions or 

meetings.

Dressing rooms and kitchen: situated directly under 

the hall’s administration offices are the dressing rooms and 

changing rooms for sports events (level 0). The kitchen and 

additional rooms are also located there. 

Arena: the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle’s 4000 m² of floor 

space makes it one of the largest in Europe. The arena offers 

8,427 permanent seats in the stands. The height from the 

underside of the roof support beams is 12 metres. The inner 

area is equipped with a 18 m² LED wall. At concerts, it is 

possible to gain direct access from backstage to the stage 

itself. The Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle has a permanent 

cycling track (285 metres) and track and field athletics 

facilities including a 200 metre track. Trucks are able to access 

the floor space. 

FoYer 

Access to the hall duo in NeckarPark is via a modern foyer. The 

intermediate building connecting the halls has made for a an 

prestigious common entrée with spacious cloakrooms, ticket 

offices and service facilities. 

porSche-arena 

Multi-purpose room: this functional room on level 0 in the 

Porsche-Arena measures 310 m² and is 3.5 metres high. An exit 

out onto the Mercedesstraße enables it to be used in a multitude 

of ways, e.g. as a press centre as it was for the Handball World 

Championships 2007. 

Grandls Restaurant, Bar, Lounge: the restaurant where 

both halls are joined can be reached either from the foyer or 

from the Mercedesstraße (level 0). It has 165 tableside seats 

and the bar is an inviting place to while away time. Restaurateur 

Hans Peter Grandl delights his guests with excellent Swabian- 

Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant has space for approxi- 

mately 230 people.

Executive boxes: Porsche-Arena has over 20 exclusive exe- 

cutive boxes sized between 16 - 26 m². Every executive box 

has a glass front providing a direct view of the floor space. 

Immediately in front of each executive box are, depending on 

its size, 9 - 15 box seats with armrests. 

Business-Lounge: the Business-Lounge offers space for up 

to 350 persons and connects the two executive box areas in 

the Porsche-Arena. The view from the Business-Lounge into 

the arena through the large glass front is overwhelming. Its 

highly diverse cuisine makes the Business-Lounge the ideal 

meeting place for executive box guests. 

TV, Press: broadcasting facilities and press seating are loca- 

ted on level 3. The press seating provides 12 permanent seats 

with tables. 

Dressing rooms and changing rooms: the artists dres- 

sing rooms and the changing rooms for sports events are lo- 

cated on level 0. 

Offices and crew catering: depending on the event, six 

offices can be utilised in a number of ways. Team and crew 

catering is obviously important at events and concerts. 

Arena: floor space in the Porsche-Arena totals 2000 m². 

When using the mobile stands (e.g. for handball and basket- 

ball) the arena has 1,450 m² of floor space. Its stands have 

permanent seating for approximately 6,000 people. The height 

to the light rigging is 12 metres. Hanging from the roof is a 

4 x 12 metre LED cube (height is flexible). A permanent ice 

rink has been installed under the protective surface. The floor 

space can be accessed by trucks (2 entrances of which one 

is in the backstage area). Ample parking is available on the 

Benzstraße side of the hall; trucks and coaches can park next 

to the Porsche-Arena.

NeckarPark is one of the most attractive event 

sites in Europe and the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer- 

Halle and the Porsche-Arena are one of its central 

pillars. 

The hall duo offers a multitude of perspectives 

and a multitude of emotions, regardless of whether 

it is sport, culture, concerts, business events or 

company presentations. The hub of the Schleyer- 

SpecTacular perForMance – auDienceS can enJoY

Halle and the Porsche-Arena is the modern foyer 

that does more than just uniting the hall complexes 

architecturally. 

Immediately noticeable when entering the new 

main entrance via the Willi Daume Bridge are the 

first alterations: new ticket offices and information 

facilities increase the service. The foyer also 

provides waiting audiences with plenty of opportu-

nities to while away time, sanitary facilities and 

cloakrooms. A large plateau adjoins the hall duo to 

the Benzstraße side of the complex. It offers space 

for open-air presentations and links, at this level, 

the Carl Benz Center and one side of the Gottlieb- 

Daimler-Stadium. 

The new entrée of the Porsche-Arena additionally 

houses Grandls Restaurant, Bar, Lounge. Visits to 

the events can be rounded off there. Guests can 

therefore experience the Schleyer-Halle and the 

Porsche-Arena from a totally different angle. The 

foyer has already proved its versatility: as a stage 

for the official opening of the Porsche-Arena or 

as an exclusive VIP lounge at the Porsche-Tennis- 

Grand Prix.

Level 3 in the Porsche-Arena is the exclusive 

meeting place for everybody wanting to turn their 

visit to the Porsche-Arena into a really special spor- 

ting or cultural occasion. Guest comfort is the 

central feature of the Business-Lounge and the 

executive boxes above the steep stands. The 20 

executive boxes are between 16 - 26 m² and offer 

space for 9 - 15 people. 

Each executive box and the Business-Lounge, 

which is open to executive box guests, have fully 

glazed fronts and offer an amazing view of the 

action taking place in the arena. The atmosphere 

can be enjoyed even more in the seats immedia- 

tely in front of the executive boxes. The seats are 

comfortable and have armrests. 

Comfort and exclusivity are the core elements 

in the executive boxes and associated amenities. 

Those wanting to be pampered along with their 

guests can do so individually and intimately in their 

own executive box or they can mix with other guests 

in the Business-Lounge. Depending on the event, 

visitors will be treated to a cold and warm buffet and 

a selection of drinks. Additionally there is also time 

to converse and cultivate contacts. 

Another benefit for executive box customers: 

they can drive to the hall and leave their vehicles in 

the new car park between the Carl Benz Center and 

the Porsche-Arena. From there visitors can reach 

the Business-Lounge and the executive boxes via a 

separate entrance with a lift.
