Miss. <strong>Nargis</strong> <strong>Zahra</strong> is a lecturer and a result driven researcher withanalyticalexperience in the<br />

philosophical, security, political and international issues.<br />

Education:Miss <strong>Nargis</strong> <strong>Zahra</strong> maintains an excellent academic record. She has earned her bachelor in<br />

Philosophy and Psychology from Bahaudin Zakraya <strong>University</strong>, Multan. She carries a First class<br />

Master’sdegree in International Relations (IR) and M.Phil in <strong>Defence</strong> and Strategic Studies (DSS) from<br />

Quaid-e Azam <strong>University</strong> (QAU), Islamabad.The topic of her dissertation was "Realism and<br />

Contemporary Challenges to Security". She evaluated Realist Paradigm with reference to the case<br />

studies of Current Economic Crunch in global market and Terrorism with reference to Classical Realist<br />

thought. She has maintained 1 st division throughout her academic years. She qualified for DAAD PhD<br />

Scholarship 2010, for Conflict Studies and Management Programme (CSMP) Willy Brandt School of<br />

Public Policy, Erfurt <strong>University</strong>, Germany. She stands to be the only Pakistani female working on<br />

Classical Realism of Political Thought.<br />

Professional Background: Miss <strong>Nargis</strong> <strong>Zahra</strong> has earned professional experience as a teacher at college<br />

and university level, an editor, writer, skill trainer and public speaker. She started her professional life in<br />

2003 from Central Law College forGirls,Multan; there she taught Pakistan Studies and Political Science.<br />

She joined Superior Services’ Academy in 2004 for teaching CSS classes and taking charge as Director<br />

Administration. She joined M.Phil after teaching experience of four years, in 2007. She started her career<br />

in Islamabad in 2008 by joining Department of DSS at QAU as Teaching and Research Assistant. She<br />

provided student counseling on seminar papers, prepared syllabi and delivered lectures at MSc level. She<br />

also rendered her services as seminar coordinator for one year at DSS, QAU. She qualified for the post of<br />

Assistant Research Officer at Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI)in March 2009. Her<br />

responsibilities at IPRI included giving presentations to foreign delegations on national, regional and<br />

international strategic issues, research and writing. She has also worked as Assistant Editor ‘Factfile’ at<br />

Islamabad Policy Research Institute on for 11 months. In addition to this she has frequently been writing<br />

in English Newspapers' Editorials, andspeaking at Radio and TV Current Affairs programs. She has also<br />

worked as a visiting trainer for training Local Body Representatives from different parts of Pakistan at<br />

<strong>National</strong> Centre for Rural Development (NCRD). She joined Department of IR at FCS, NDU in February<br />

2011. Here she teaches Theories of International Relations, Research Methodology and Political<br />

Economy. She is also working as student counselor and course coordinator.

<strong>University</strong> Press (Karachi) and manuscript is submitted.<br />

2. The Synopsis of her book “Regional Security Complexes and Contemporary Muslim World” is in<br />

process of writing.<br />
