LED based Portable System for Diagnosis of Oral Cancer An LED-based, USB powered diagnostic system has been developed for field trials on patients with oral cavity cancer in Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra. Technique based on detecting small difference in spectral characteristics of fluorescence radiation emitted by normal and cancerous cells when illuminated by a laser beam. • The system is presently being validated at TMH, Mumbai. • More than 200 patients studied so far.
