UITT Exhibitor Feedback
Mohammed Essa Al Shaikh, Head of Region, Dubai Department of Tourism and
Commerce Marketing
“Ukrainian tourist numbers to Dubai have been increasing tremendously, in 2010 we
had around 42,000 tourists and in 2012 we had 70,000. Being part of UITT allows our
destination management companies (DMC’s) and hoteliers to promote their products
and services. (.) For the past 7 years UITT has been doing a great job in assisting our
promotion and I hope that it will continue for the years to come.”
Karen Confait, Manager, Seychelles Tourism Board
“It is the first time that we have participated and as Ukraine’s main travel fair it is a
good platform; I think it is important to show our presence and create some brand
awareness here. (.) We have two DMCs and one hotel with us; the potential clients are
here and we have had quite a few visitors to our stand.”
Tomaš Jackevič, Chief Specialist of Target Markets Division, Republic of Lithuania State
Department of Tourism
“The Ukraine market for us is very important, we’ve had over 16 million tourists who
have come from here, so it’s a huge market for Lithuania. This year we are at UITT for
the first time and I think that being here will have a big influence for the future amount
of tourists from Ukraine to Lithuania.”
UITT Exhibitor Feedback
Josep M Perramon, Director of East Europe Countries, Government of Catalonia
“Ukrainian people love to travel to Catalonia and we expected 60,000 Ukraine tourists
next year.(.) We’ve been supporting UITT from the beginning of the exhibition and I
believe this exhibition is the best reference of the travel and tourism market in Ukraine; it
is a very interesting fair. The exhibition absolutely concentrates the attention of all the
national tourism centres of all the countries.”
Mohamed Khaleel, President of MATATO
“Ukraine is a very important market for the Maldives, it is an emerging market and it is
very active. For the last three to four years I have been attending UITT individually and
I’ve seen that there are huge opportunities in the market. The exhibition is going very
well and this morning there was a queue of visitors wanting to collect brochures and
information, which is a lot of exposure for the Maldives. UITT is very effective; an
excellent forum to have good business meets, and is well organised.”
Saeed Abdulla Al Samahi, General Manager, Fujairah Tourism & Antiquities Authority
“The Ukrainian tourist market is any important market for us and it is our second time at
UITT. In 2012, almost 80,000 tourist travelled to UAE from Ukraine.(.) Ukrainian people
love to go to Dubai and we wish to take them to Fujairah. I think the Ukraine exhibition is
important, we must be here.”
