As the work of the Founders Council, Development and Academic Committees
continued and interest spread, we invited participants to visit NativityMiguel schools.
Committee members traveled to Mother Seton Academy in Baltimore, Maryland and the
San Miguel Academy in Newburgh, New York. We invited Sister Charmaine Krohe,
SSND, the former president of Mother Seton Academy, to spend an afternoon with us,
answering questions and sharing the success story that is Mother Seton Academy.
Father Mark Connell, president of San Miguel Academy, attended a committee meeting
and offered his insights and advice.
A meeting with Bishop Joseph Bambera, the Bishop of Scranton, led to the mutual
agreement of the new school operating outside of the diocesan system. It will be a
private, catholic school. The location of NativityMiguel Scranton has not yet been
determined.
We have employed TransitionGuides, Inc. to conduct a search for a school president.
The job description for that position has been posted on IHM listserve. Sisters who may
be interested in applying are asked to send a resume and cover letter to

It is our hope to hire the president by October, 2013. The projected date for the opening
of the school is September, 2015.
