Prof. Josef Penninger at EuroPerio 7
The esteemed Austrian professor, Josef Penninger gracefully
agreed to be one of the plenary lecturers of the congress.
Entitled Basic Mechanisms of Disease Pathogenesis, Prof.
Penninger’s lecture was an excellent opening of the EuroPerio 7
congress and gave a thorough and instructive insight about
pathogenesis.
Josef Penninger is the Senior Scientist and Scientific Director
of the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology. The scientists at
IMBA perform groundbreaking research. Studies of Josef
Penninger‘s team are working to establish basic principles of
physiology and basic mechanisms of disease pathogenesis.
In particular, the Penninger Laboratory focuses on heart and
lung diseases, cancer, and bone diseases.
Prof. Penninger agreed to donate his honorarium ( 5,000) as
a Summer School Scholarship at their research center IMBA.
