If you missed Compton and Bennett 

two years ago with Assisted Living the 

Musical you will not want to miss them 

this year! A Cracker At The Ritz is an original 

two-person musical revue which exposes 

the ironies, foibles and absurdities of life in 

Southwest Florida. 

Characters include 

Naomi Lipshitz-Finklestein-Murphy; 

Cap’n Baldrick, the Pirate; local artiste 

Ariel; Songs include A Ton-and-a-half of Cadillac Steel, 

Barron Collier High and the plaintive spring break lament, 

Tattoo on My Butt. This show has played to sold out audiences 

in cabarets, country clubs and theaters from Marco 

Island to Fort Myers. Compton and Bennett are coming to VillageWalk for one 

special night, Saturday, January 28. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., Dinner will be 

served at 6:00 p.m. catered by Railhead Cafe consisting of a house salad, rolls 

and butter, Penne rustica; penne pasta tossed with grilled chicken breast, italian 

sausage, onions, mushrooms, fresh basil, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce, 

Baked fish florentine and a Beef pot roast, Yankee style roast beef served with 

vegetables and potatoes, and dessert. 

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will go fast, so get your reservations 

in early! Tickets are $40.00 per person. Please remember to BYOB.

Progressive Dinner! 

Luau Style! 

Get to meet your neighbors on 

Sunday, January 8 at our progressive 

dinner. Appetizers will be out in the 

Gazebo area starting at 4:30 p.m. and 

then we’ll move into the ballroom 

for dinner and dessert. Tables in 

the ballroom will be designated by 

States. Please remember to BYOB. 

When registering please let us know 

what you will be bringing: appetizer, 

side dish or main entree. Please be 

prepared to be flexible on dishes to 

bring as we need to make sure we have plenty of entrees 

to accommodate the participants. When registering 

please let us know what State you come from for table 

set up purposes. $7.00 per person to cover the cost of 

magician, dessert, paper products, sternos and non-alcoholic 

beverages. If you are bringing appetizers, please try 

to arrive a few minutes early so we can display them. All 

reservations must be in by Thursday, January 5 for planning

Shark Valley Tour 

The Shark Valley area is home to a diverse number 

of animals and plants. The various species change with 

the seasons and water levels throughout the year. As 

a result, every journey through the Everglades offers 

a different experience for visitors. VillageWalk will 

be heading to Shark Valley in the Everglades National 

Park on Tuesday, January 10 for a tram tour and visit. 

We have 30 spots reserved on the 2:00 p.m. trolley 

tour. The tram tour will last about two hours and is 

$16.00 per person. Parking is $10.00 per car. You may 

bring a small cooler on-board that fits under your seat. 

We need to be on-site at 1:30 p.m. for the tour, leaving 

VillageWalk Bocce courts at 12:00 noon. After the 

tram tour you may explore on your own or head back 

to VillageWalk. Please make sure to wear comfortable 

clothing, Tennis shoes, sunscreen and bring your 

camera! All reservations must be received by Tuesday, 

January 3.

American Heart Association Luncheon 

Tuesday, January 17 • 12:00 Noon 

The American Heart Association 

in partnership with Condo 

and HOA Law would like to invite 

you for lunch to educate you 

on the myths and raise awareness 

of heart disease as the number 

one killer of women. Because 

women have been largely ignored 

as a specific group, their awareness 

of this often-preventable 

disease has suffered. Only 55 percent of women realize 

heart disease is their No. 1 killer and less than half 

know what are considered healthy levels for cardiovascular 

risk factors like blood pressure and cholesterol. 

Condo and HOA Law will explain how stress is linked 

to Cardio Vascular Disease and how they can help 

to reduce stress in your community. The Go Red For 

Women movement works to make sure women know 

they are at risk so they can take action to protect their 

health. This FREE luncheon is open to both men and 

women. All reservations must be received by Tuesday, 

January 10 for this free seminar and luncheon. 

Swamp Buggy Races

If we have 20 people by the 16th of January who are interested 

in going we can order group tickets which are

Kayaking at Manatee Park 

Join in the fun on Tuesday, 

January 31 as we hit 

the waters of South West 

Florida in search of some 

exercise, birds, dolphins 

and manatees! We will be 

kayaking from Manatee Park in Fort Myers down the 

Orange River and back. There will be kayak instruction 

before we depart; so even if you have never kayaked 

before this trip is for you! Enjoy lunch in the park after 

the trip; choice of turkey on wheat, ham on white or 

a veggie wrap. Lunch comes with drink and dessert. 

$39.00 per person for this day of fun so don’t miss out. 

We will leave from VillageWalk tennis courts at 8:45 

a.m. and return after lunch. Please sign up at the HOA 

Office by Friday, January 27. 

Now on Tuesday Nights! 

We are looking to host Weight Watchers meetings 

here at VillageWalk starting on Tuesday, January 17. 

Weight Watchers is no longer offering the 12 week 

program, instead everyone can now purchase a monthly 

pass for $39.95 which includes free etools. Each member 

must pay through a weight watchers website. At 

the information session on Tuesday, January 17 at 6:00 

p.m. we will walk you through the process of getting 

registered! We need a minimum of 20 paid members 

to host the meetings here at our community. At least 

12 members must be present for each session in order 

to continue the program. The first official class will be 

held on Tuesday, January 24 with the weigh in beginning 

at 5:30 p.m., meeting would start at 6:00 p.m. If 

you are interested in joining the group please RSVP to 

the HOA Office by Monday, January 16. 

3rd Annual Art Walk

Come and enjoy a lovely evening of fine art and live 

contemporary music. Paintings exhibited are by Artists

Half Day Deep Sea Fishing Trip on 

the Lady Brett 

Monday, January 30 and Friday, February 24 

1:00 p.m. Departure (check in at 12:45p.m.) Tin City 

Enjoy the afternoon on the 

Gulf of Mexico, a great way to 

spend the day! Departing from 

Tin City for a half day of deep 

sea fishing. Cruising at 18 knots,

Trivia Night 

Come test your knowledge! Trivia 

nights are informal, fun, competitions 

where teams battle to see who has the 

greatest knowledge of matters trivial. Test 

your knowledge with categories including, 

but not limited to, sports, geography, 

entertainment, science, and literature. The 

winners are the team which, at the end of the night, have 

correctly answered the most number of questions. Get 

your friends and neighbors together for Trivia Night here 

at the Town Center. Teams can have a minimum of 4 

players with a maximum of 8 players. Please come with 

a team name in mind so we can begin on time! Don’t 

worry if you don’t have a team together, we can match

Pub Crawl 

You will not want to miss this fun VillageWalk 

Activity! The Ku-Ku Ku-Nu- 

Ku a famous authentic, “open air” San 

Francisco Motorized Cable Car, will 

pick us up right at VillageWalk to start 

the evening off right. We will travel 

to all of the hot spots either in Naples or Fort Myers 

Beach! Coolers, snacks and pre-game beverages are 

allowed on the trolley. The tunes will be jammin’ as we 

get on and off the trolley all evening. The cost for the 

trolley is $20.00 per person based on a minimum of 30 

residents. So don’t drink and drive, hop on the trolley 

and ride with us. The trolley will depart VillageWalk 

at 6:00 p.m. from the Town Center and return at 11:00 

p.m. for all of the evenings listed below.

Kilwin’s Chocolate Tour 

Who doesn’t love chocolate Join 

VillageWalk as we head to Kilwin’s on 

5th Ave. in Naples on Wednesday, February 

1 for a 10:00 a.m. tour. Kilwin’s 

carries chocolates, confections, truffles, 

creams, candy, caramel and much more 

right in time for Valentine’s Day! We will learn the 

process of fudge making and even get to dip our own 

chocolate piece to enjoy! The tour is $5.00 per person 

with a minimum of 10 people. All reservations must be 

into the HOA office by Monday, January 23. 

Community Garage Sale 

Join in the fun on Saturday, 

February 4 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. 

right here in VillageWalk as we 

host a community garage sale! If 

you have some items you wish to 

get out of the house please sign up 

at the HOA Office window or call 

949-9909. When registering please leave your home 

address, phone number, and items for sale. On Friday, 

February 3 a Garage sale list will be placed out in the 

Town Center for everyone to pick up. All participating 

homes will be listed and a community map will be attached! 

All garage sale hosts must have their addresses 

into the Town Center by 12:00 noon on Friday, February 

3 to make the listing. If you miss the deadline you 

are still permitted to have a garage sale but will not be 

included on the handout. If you have friends or relatives 

you wish to attend, please plan ahead by putting 

them on the guest list for the day.

Valentine’s Dance - Pretty in Pink 

Be whisked away at this Valentine’s Day themed romantic 

dance with Manhattan Connection! You will not 

be disappointed as Manhattan Connection will rock the 

evening away at VillageWalk on Saturday, February 11. 

Doors for this event will open at 5:45 p.m. with dinner at 

6:00 p.m. and entertainment 7:00-10:00 p.m. Dinner will 

be catered by Railhead Cafe’ consisting of Caesar Salad, 

Garlic bread, rolls and butter, Chicken Marsala, Grilled 

Mahi Mahi with a teriyaki glaze, oven roasted red potatoes, 

brown sugar glazed carrots, hand carved top round 

of beef served with au jus sauce and a decadent chocolate 

layer cake for dessert. The cost is $25.00 per person

the fashions to us for this fabulous 

event. She will also be bringing

of the most exciting piano playing that you will ever 

witness! Don’t miss this dinner and show on Saturday,

Easter Eggstravaganza! 

Join us on Saturday, April 7 from 8:30 a.m.- 

11:00 a.m. for our Easter Egg Hunt, breakfast and Comedy/ 

Magic Show. Enjoy a special appearance by, you guessed 

it, the Easter Bunny! Age groups are as follows: 0-3, 4-6 

and 7 & up. Check in begins at 8:00 a.m., Easter Egg hunt 

will go by Age Group. Each child will walk away with a 

prize and of course as many eggs as they can collect. Following 

the Egg hunt there will be breakfast with the Easter 

Bunny in the Town Center Ballrooms. Enjoy a breakfast

art collection, this 

museum houses 21 galleries. 

These galleries house masterpieces 

by Rubens, Van Dyck, Veronese, Velazquez, El 

Greco, Tiepolo and Gainsborough. The galleries encircle 

a courtyard in which you will find an impressive group 

of early twentieth-century bronze and stone casts of 

iconic Classical, Renaissance, and Baroque sculptures, 

including Michelangelo’s David from Palazzo Vecchio 

in Florence, Italy. This museum was sought to bring 

a glimpse of the world’s great cultural treasures to the

Chihuly/ Dali Museum

The VillageWalk SWFBL Bocce Team will host 

three other teams from the Southwest Florida Bocce

The VillageWalk SWFBL Bocce Team will host 

three other teams from the Southwest Florida Bocce 

League on Friday, February 24th, with games starting 

at 9:30 a.m. Come and support your community team. 

The Southwest Florida Bocce League’s Play for Blue 

event, called Bocce for Blue, will be held on Saturday, 

February 25, 2012 at VillageWalk of Bonita Springs, 

starting at 9:00 am. It will be a Battle of the Sexes, 

and each community will be allowed one male and one 

female team (4 members each) and, if there is room, 

additional teams will be on a first-come, first-serve 

basis. The registration fee will be $25.00 per person 

(or $100.00 per team) which will include breakfast and 

lunch and water. Spectators will be charged separately 

for breakfast and lunch. Each participant will receive 

a Registration Bag, which will contain a hand towel 

(hopefully), breakfast, lunch and raffle tickets, and 

other items yet to be determined. It is planned to have 

items available for bidding through the raffle tickets, as 

well as a 50-50 raffle. It should be a fun day for everyone 

(rain date will be Sunday, February 26th). Anyone

of Martha’s Vineyard, whom she meets as a 12 year old 

sent to dig clams for her family’s supper, changes both 

of their lives forever. Over time they teach each other 

about their cultures and Caleb becomes the 1st Native 

American to graduate from Harvard in 1662.

narrative of the heart-stopping events surrounding 

the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

We have a 12:30 reservation just a few miles south to 

Walkerbilt Road for lunch at the Bayhouse. If you have 

not been to Bayhouse, you are in for a pleasant surprise 

– it is situated on the Cocohatchee River with nice views 

and the interior is most attractive. The food, of course, is 

excellent. They will offer us a limited menu ranging from 

$10-$18 and will give separate checks.

by February 15th at 4:30 p.m. She will have directions 

to reach the restaurant at the time you make your 

reservation.

Handsome Harry’s on Third Street So, Naples is the 

place to be on March 28th at 12:30. They have a fantastic 

menu and have offered us choice of menu and separate 

checks. A copy of the menu will be available for your 

perusal when you make your reservation along with 

directions to the restaurant. Of course, while you are 

there, plan to spend some time shopping on Third St. You 

won’t want to miss this outing.

Men’s Golf League 

JOIN THE FUN 

The Village Walk Men’s Golf League 

invites you to come join the fun. Substitutes 

are welcome throughout the year. We play at 

Twin Eagles Golf Course, which is located on 

Immokalee Blvd about 7 miles east of route 75 on the 

left. The Club offers 2 professional courses – the Talon 

and the Eagle. This year the ACE Classic will be 

played here in February and the LPGA will have their 

final contest here next year. Check out the web site:

We plan to alternate courses each week starting in 

January. The League plays on Thursdays from November 

to April each year. All levels of play are welcome; 

we play to have fun, enjoy each other and our fantastic 

Florida weather.

round with cart. This is a Country Club so no cargo 

shorts; collared shirts tucked in. Respect other players, 

the course, and the staff. 

We play weekly Fun Contests, which are optional. 

Handicaps will need to be established and maintained. 

There will be no course participation in maintaining 

your handicap. If you don’t have a handicap we will 

help you establish one. 

Our first Tee Time starts at between 11 AM and 

11:30 AM every week and then every 10 minutes. 

Blocks of Tee times are set up weeks in advance. A

are also several comfort stations, which also provide

A practice facility is available before your tee time. 

We share this course with the residents of Twin Eagles

Neighborhood Meeting. If the time to hold your neighborhood 

meeting has come, please set your meeting 

date, providing those on your street with the notice of 

meeting and a proxy, to elect your representatives. The 

HOA provides mailing labels, envelopes, and reimburses 

postage costs. Please notify our office if you will 

need access to the office copier.

Parcel Box Keys 

If anyone has a Parcel Box Key , please return it to 

the Post Office as quickly as possible. Without the 

keys the parcel boxes cannot be used. Please leave the 

keys in the box after retrieving your packages.

All bike riders MUST use 

the bike racks or park bikes 

in the bike rack areas.

Newly Painted Yellow 

“No Parking” Curb 

The curb in front of Railhead Café was painted with a 

bright yellow stripe with “no parking” stenciled on the 

stripe. Please be aware there is NO PARKING allowed 

at any area along the Café walkway, including the entrance! 

Vehicles and golf carts must use regular Town 

Center parking spaces. Please note the interior corners 

of the Café parking lot are also striped yellow and are a 

no parking area as well. Your cooperation and help in 

providing safety for all residents is appreciated. 

As More of Our 

Residents Return 

Our streets are already becoming busier within the 

community with many more vehicles, bicyclists, walkers 

and joggers on our streets. PLEASE remember: 

• The speed limit throughout the community is 25 

miles per hour. 

• Use extra care in watching out for our pet walkers, 

children, cyclists and joggers. 

• Joggers, cyclists: please use reflective gear when 

on the streets: now that it gets dark earlier, drivers 

may not see you. Use caution when out at dusk or 

after dark! 

• Please slow down when entering the community at 

the gate. Some drivers fly into the community and 

do not fully stop at the stop sign. Prevent an accident 

and obey the speed limit and all traffic signs. 

• Do NOT tail gate into the community: if you damage 

your vehicle due to tailgating the cost to repair 

is yours. The gate arm is programmed to close 

after each vehicle: please wait your turn. 

Community Update 

• Tennis Courts 1-4 were resurfaced in November. 

• Bocce Courts resurfacing and drainage repairs were 

completed in December. 

• Resort and Lap Pools were drained, cleaned and 

acid washed during summer months. 

• The Town Center, Tennis Pavilion, Tot Lot, 

Car Wash, Pool Enclosure Walls, Gate House and 

Entrance were pressure washed and painted in 

September. 

• All space lines for the parking lots are in the process 

of being restriped. 

• Bridges # 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 will 

undergo repairs and repainting courtesy of our 

developer! Thank you! 

• Sunshine Gasoline is VillageWalk’s new gas 

distributor. Look for a few changes to the look of 

the pumps.
