Lettering mint error
A mint error has recently been discovered on the new Washington
Presidential $1 Coins. These coins inadvertently left the United
States Mint without edge-lettering on them. The inscriptions ‘In
God We Trust,’ ‘E Pluribus Unum,’ as well as the mint mark and
year are absent from these errors. This specific NGC certified
piece was signed by the Director of the U.S. Mint and is the cover
coin of Issue 19 of Mint Error News Magazine.
