Training objectives<br />
This five day course is for the serious quality management system auditor. A challenging course that will equip you with the planning<br />
skills to lead an audit team, carry out complex supplier audits, external 3rd party audits and deliver accurate, defendable and value<br />
adding audit reports. This course has a strong process and continual improvement bias, suitable for those of you who are interested<br />
in auditing to establish the overall capability of the management system to sustain and improve its performance. The course has<br />
been adapted to take into consideration the release of ISO 9001:2008.<br />
You will learn how to plan, conduct, report and follow up the results of audits. You will learn how an auditor would expect to see the<br />
internal audit tool used as an integral component in the continual improvement process, and appreciate the important relationships<br />
between auditing, operational efficiency and improvement planning. The course will introduce you to “Plan – Do – Check – Act”<br />
methodology and help you to understand how this fundamental cornerstone of continual improvement should be inextricably linked<br />
to operational effectiveness. The course will also introduce you to a range of different auditing situations and equip you with the<br />
ability to apply the right skills to the right context. This will include audits of internal procedures, audits to establish conformance to<br />
external standards and customer requirements, procedural audits, process audits and full systems audits including multi-site<br />
situations. You will also learn what differentiates the “lead auditor” from audit team members and the additional skill set and<br />
disciplines required by the audit team leader<br />
Topics<br />
In context of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Party audits, the techniques and disciplines of:<br />
• Audit planning, including the construction and use of checklists<br />
• Performing the audit, conducting interviews and following document trails,<br />
process auditing and procedural auditing<br />
• Audit report writing and feedback techniques<br />
• Following up the results and how they should be used for continual improvement<br />
• <strong>Lead</strong>ing an audit team<br />
The course will introduce you to the following cornerstones Quality Management:<br />
• The 8 Principles of Quality Management<br />
• Plan – Do – Check – Act methodology<br />
• The ISO 9000 series and ISO 9001 requirements<br />
Prerequisites<br />
Candidates are expected to have basic knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 requirements before attending this course.
Target group<br />
• Staff charged with the responsibility to develop and maintain a <strong>QMS</strong><br />
• All <strong>QMS</strong> auditors who wish to acquire an internationally recognized auditor status<br />
• Those who wish to explore career opportunities in management system auditing<br />
• Those intending to acquire the competence to audit an organization's<br />
ISO 9001-based management system, either as third or second party audit.<br />
Certification<br />
After the successful completion of the written and oral exams, an <strong>IRCA</strong> Certificate for <strong>QMS</strong> <strong>Auditor</strong>/<strong>Lead</strong> <strong>Auditor</strong> Systems is<br />
awarded. In case of failure, a Certificate of Attendance is awarded.<br />
