Elementary students participated in
jump rope activities and Miami Beach
Senior High students worked out in
the school's fitness center which
includes a rock climbing wall.
Nautilus Middle School students had
a tennis match, utilizing the shared
facilities of the city park.
At Crandon Park, in Key Biscayne,
Sebastian, the University of Miami
Mascot and students from Miami-
Dade County Public Schools participated
in a kayaking event. The students
are part of a joined sports venture
between the Miami-Dade County
Public Schools and the Miami-Dade
County Parks and Recreation
Department. The group included students
with disabilities who participate
in kayaking activities all yearlong.
At the end of the day, a closing
event was held at Mercy’s Hospital
with the participation of MDCHD´s
employees and the leadership of our
Department. Annie Neasman, Deputy

Matuska, CEO of Mercy’s Hospital
and Dallas Manuel, from the office of
Commissioner Dennis C. Moss also
attended the event.
