Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) and as its Honours &
Awards Committee chair, I am pleased to announce the following EADV scholarship award, which
interested young dermato-venereologists and residents/trainees can now apply/be proposed for:
Michael Hornstein Memorial Scholarship
The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) offers the Michael Hornstein
Memorial Scholarship to one selected applicant of each Central, Eastern, Northern & Western
European country to facilitate the attendance of the 10 th EADV Spring Symposium in Cracow, Poland
from 23-26 May, 2013.
���� Every scholarship provides free registration to the symposium and consists of 1000€ minus the
fee of a one-year EADV membership (for the upcoming calendar year) -according to the status
of each recipient.

Criteria to be observed when applying/proposing a candidate for the
Michael Hornstein Memorial Scholarship:
• Young dermato-venereologists or residents/trainees under 35 years of age
• Must not have previously received an EADV scholarship award
• Must have adequate knowledge of the English language
Required documentation below for application to be submitted in English only for the
grant/scholarship listed above:
• The completed Scholarship Application Form
• A CV and a list of publications (not more than 3 pages)
• A current copy of the applicant’s training or specialist certificate
• A letter of support written either by the training director/head of department, hospital
or clinic endorsing the application
• A letter of support written by a ‘specialist’ EADV member endorsing the application
• A copy of an ID with a passport-size photo

Complete applications shall not exceed 5MB and be submitted by:
5 November, 2012
in order to ensure a smooth evaluation & selection process 1 .
