tournament, lost 82-72 at No. 2 and<br />

eventual champion Plattsburgh in<br />

Moseley had 12.8<br />

points and 8.2 boards-per-contest...<br />

On Jan. 9 at Cortland, both Brooks<br />

and Moseley scored the 1,000th<br />

point of their respective careers.<br />

Moseley went on to fi nish her career<br />

ranked 8th on the school’s all-time<br />

scoring list with 1,<strong>07</strong>8, and Jacey<br />

fi nished fourth in school history with<br />

1,219 points...<br />

WOMEN’S HOCKEY<br />

Improved by two wins from a year<br />

ago, fi nishing 7-15-1 overall and 5-9<br />

in ECAC West play under fi rst-year<br />

Head Coach Rob Burke...Juniors<br />

Shannon Anesetti and Mary<br />

Cohen were both named second<br />

team all-conference...Anesetti<br />

posted a 2.49 GAA and a .924<br />

save percentage, and Cohen tallied<br />

seven points from the blue line...<br />

Melissa Jeckovich fi nished as the<br />

leading scorer with 10 points...<br />

On Feb. 9, the Bengals defeated<br />

Cortland, 72-69, in the Sports<br />

Arena, as <strong>Buffalo</strong> <strong>State</strong> joined<br />

select company with win No. 1,000<br />

since the program turned varsity in<br />

1926...<strong>Buffalo</strong> <strong>State</strong> is 1,002-684<br />

(.594) with 17 SUNYAC titles and<br />

18 NCAA Playoff appearances...<br />

Randy Smith led the Bengals to the 1970<br />

Final Four and is the school’s all-time<br />

leading scorer (1,712) and rebounder (1,049).<br />

SWIMMING & DIVING<br />

Men’s and women’s team both had<br />

winning records in the same season<br />

for the fi rst time...Men were 4-3<br />

and placed seventh of nine at the<br />

SUNYAC Championships...Women<br />

were 4-3-1 and also fi nished<br />

seventh at the conference meet...<br />

Freshman Miranda Warner set a<br />

new school record in the 100 back<br />

and joined Caitlin Morsch, Megan<br />

Farrell and Karli Bender on the<br />

record-setting 200 medley relay<br />

team...Eric Hastings was second<br />

team All-SUNYAC, placing third in<br />

the 1,650 free....<br />

WOMEN’S LACROSSE<br />

Opened the season by matching<br />

a school record with sevenconsecutive<br />

victories...Also matched<br />

a program best with 10 total<br />

wins, fi nishing 10-5 overall and<br />

2-5 in SUNYAC play...Freshman<br />

Stephanie Georgopoulos and<br />

junior Shantel Ackley led the<br />

Bengals with 48 and 47 points<br />

respectively...Juniors Ashley<br />

Parker and Katie Lyons were both<br />

recognized as second team All-<br />

SUNYAC...<br />

Dick Bihr led <strong>Buffalo</strong> <strong>State</strong> to 449 victories<br />

from 1979 until 2005.<br />

Eric Hastings<br />

Leah Bernal, a senior elementary education<br />

major, won the SUNY Chancellor’s Award<br />

for Student-Excellence. The Chancellor’s<br />

Award is the highest award bestowed by<br />

SUNY upon a student, recognizing model<br />

students who have integrated academic<br />

excellence and extracurricular involvement.<br />

Bernal ranks third in school history with 106<br />

career points.<br />
