1. In selecting students for admission into the Sixth Form, the Admissions Board goes
strictly by merit. Points are awarded to each candidate depending on the grades obtained
in the subjects at SEC and/or GCE examinations chosen at Advanced or Intermediate
Level (See Annex 2).
2. In cases where 2 or more students get equal number of points, the following criteria are
used to decide the rank order:
i. the best grades in the 2 subjects chosen at Advanced Level
ii. the best grades in the 3 subjects chosen at Intermediate Level (or their equivalent
average grade as indicated on page 9, point 4)
3. For selection purposes the College does not consider more than nine subjects at Ordinary
Level.
4. Students from St Aloysius College, brothers and sisters of students currently attending St
Aloysius College and children of staff employed by St Aloysius College for a minimum of
one year, are eligible for admission into Sixth Form if they obtain a total of 145 points and
satisfy the admission requirements (p. 8-9). Those who obtain less than 145 points are
placed in order of merit with students coming from other schools.
5. The College requires a conduct report from the candidate’s former school. Candidates who have an unfavourable assessment of their conduct by their
former school will not be admitted.
6. Upgrading of marks as a result of a revision of paper will only be considered for entry into the Sixth Form by latest Thursday 30 th August
2012 at noon.
7. No re-sit in any subject will be considered for entry into the Sixth Form after the official
Sixth Form results indicating the order of merit, have been published.
