BACCALAUREATE SERVICE<br />

college. The Baccalaureate Service to<br />
celebrate this milestone is May 22 at<br />
the 9:15 a.m. service. A reception<br />
honoring our graduates will follow in<br />
the Bishop Tuttle House.<br />

YOUTH THROW DOWN THE GAUNTLET AND<br />
TAKE ON VESTRY IN CABBAGE BALL<br />
With the days getting longer and the air warming, it’s<br />
time to once again get out the “big ball” to play the<br />
annual vestry/youth cabbage ball challenge game. Mark<br />
your calendars for Sunday, May 22, at 5:00 p.m. at the<br />
Cassia Park softball diamond for this year’s battle.<br />
The youth will provide the hotdogs and hamburgers<br />
and everyone else should think about a dish they can<br />
bring to share. All are invited to come and see the<br />
exhibition that is supposed to be put on by the newest<br />
vestry members. Word has it that the newest vestry<br />
members were selected based more on their softball<br />
prowess than their business acumen.<br />

DAY AT ROARING SPRINGS FOR ACOLYTES<br />
AND CHAMBER CHOIR YOUTH MEMBERS<br />
A day at Roaring Springs to honor our acolytes and<br />
Chamber Choir youth members is June 6. All acolytes<br />
and Chamber Choir youth members are invited to<br />
meet at Bishop Tuttle House at 11:00 a.m. for lunch<br />
and the bus ride to Roaring Springs.<br />
There will be no cost to the youth for this trip as we<br />
will cover the admission cost, a meal and drinks.<br />
Please call me on or before June 1 if you will be<br />
joining the fun!<br />
YOUTH PEDDLING TOP TEN T-SHIRTS<br />
Over the next few weeks, the youth will again be<br />
selling short sleeve t-shirts extolling the top ten<br />
reasons for being an <strong>Episcopal</strong>ian (according to Robin<br />
Williams).<br />
The t-shirts come in a wide range of sizes and are<br />
available in red, white and blue. Look for their table<br />
in Tuttle House after the services. Normally $20 each,<br />
the ever cost-conscious youth will be selling the shirts<br />
for $16 each. All profits will benefit the <strong>St</strong>. Michael’s<br />
youth program.<br />

MESSY GAMES EXTRAVAGANZA<br />
The spring version of messy games will be<br />
conducted on the Carnegie lawn on May 15 at 4:00 p.m.<br />
This event is open to all youth in grades 6 through 12,<br />
and promises to be one of the messiest ever with several<br />
new games in the mix. We will have guests from the<br />
newly-formed youth group at Holy Nativity.<br />
Be sure to wear really old clothes because you may<br />
never be able to use them again. Invite a friend!<br />
YOUTH IN THE NEWS<br />
Congratulations to Will Gundlach, Alexandra Ode<br />
and Sam Schwarz on their selection as <strong>2011</strong> Boise<br />
Rotary Century Scholars. These three students are<br />
among the top 100 graduating from the Boise public and<br />
private high schools this year. All attend Boise High and<br />
will graduate on May 26. In the fall, Will plans to<br />
attend Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio;<br />
Alexandra plans to attend University of Arizona in<br />
Tucson, Arizona; and Sam plans to attend Middlebury<br />
College in Middlebury, Vermont.<br />
Tiffany McDowell, a senior at Timberline High<br />
School, received the Mayors’ Award at Boise City Hall<br />
on April 27.<br />
Please offer your congratulations to these young<br />
adults when you see them.<br />
