Institute of Trades and Applied Technologies Transportation and Heavy Equipment Attestation Of Success Collège Boréal (ASCB) You’re interested in a career as a truck driver or a heavy equipment operator Collège Boréal is your training solution! Class AZ Truck Driver This program focuses on the laws and responsibilities relating to the trucking business. Students practice driving and backing up a tractor-trailer efficiently and safely. After successfully completing the program, students may pass the Ministry of Transportation practical exam to obtain the Class-A driving licence. 5 weeks Heavy Equipment Operator This program covers all the necessary knowledge and skills in order to operate a bulldozer, an excavator, a grader, and a backhoe loader used in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads and job sites. Each type of equipment is examined specifically, including the safety inspection, testing of various functions and proper operating techniques for the equipment. Students reach these objectives while meeting the safety requirements according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. 5 weeks Grader Operator This program covers all the necessary knowledge and skills in order to operate a grader used in the maintenance and repair of roads and job sites. The grader is examined specifically, including the safety inspection, test of various functions and proper operation techniques for the equipment.
