St Giles’ West Window
Regular readers of the Village News may remember an article back in July
2010 about the urgent repairs needed to the west windows in the church.
After several weeks of scaffolding and painstaking restoration work by the
stonemason and the stained glass expert, the main west window is
complete with the smaller window almost complete. The church is now full
of light and the window looks stunning both inside and out. Do go in and
look at the transformation.
Christmas Boxes
70 Christmas boxes were collected from Uley School and St Giles’ Church for
shipment to needy children in Eastern Europe.
25 Christmas Boxes were collected from Uley for the children at The Carter
School in The Gambia. Thank you.
Fund Raising at Nympsfield
The Big Breakfast at Nympsfield raised £290 for the repairs to the tower of
St Bartholomew’s Church.
The Christmas Fair raised £648 which will be divided between St. Joseph’s
and St Bartholomew’s Churches. Thank you to all who made these events
possible and all who supported them.
