Pixy is a cloud to earth atmospheric discharge detector for lightning detection and
prevention system. The Pixy lightning detector detects atmospheric discharges within
an approximated 15 km radius which allows the detection of approaching storms and
the activation of protection & alarm systems.

INTRODUCTION
NORMS AND TESTS
Pixy is a detector of electro atmospheric discharges
(cloud-ground) based on the record of the electromagnetic
field generated by the fall of a lightning. This continued
record of every discharge allows us to control the
evolution of the stormy front in its displacement, in a
radius of detection that reaches 15 km. While lightning
impacts are registered, the Pixy unit will emit a luminous
sign that will progressively disappear up to the confirmation
of the end of the stormy activity.
Pixy is ideal for protecting lightning sensitive facilities
and activities, ranging form sports through airports and
high tech manufacturing.
FEATURES
Pixy allows knowing in real time the distance of the
stormy phenomenon, thus warning and protection
systems could be put in place to prevent the effects of
lightning impacts on persons, equipments and facilities.
Thanks to Pixy sensitive equipments could be disconnected
automatically at a certain level of alert to avoid
they could be damaged or destroyed. ref. 700007
Pixy is composed by an external antenna connected to
a control unit where the electric activity generated by the
storm can be followed. The control unit is provided with
two relays that can activate visual or acoustic alarms,
put into operation auxiliary energy feeder (generators,
UPS), disconnect equipments, or send SMS to mobiles.
The design of Pixy allows also interconnecting several
units located in different places.
