easy to use, nice to look at and environmentally friendly.
This is why we have chosen to emphasize quality and functionality
in our design philosophy and our choice of materials. All
our stoves are tested at recognized testing institutes which
guarantees that a Lotus always meets the most stringent
environmental requirements.
In addition to technicians and suppliers from all over the world,
Lotus wood burner inserts are created in close cooperation with
the architect Kaare Sølvsten.
We combine the best traditions of Danish design with the best
of quality components, thus creating complete products where
design, functionality and technology come together as a whole.
We have manufactured wood burners since 1979 and today we
have the biggest selection of wood burner inserts. This is why
you will always be able to get the exact product that best suits
the needs of your home and your family
The officially recognized Nordic ecolabel, the Swan, makes it easier for consumers to quickly find
environmentally friendly products. A product labeled with the Swan is a guarantee that:
· The product is among the least polluting in its category
· The health of consumers has been taken into account
· The quality is good
Products by Lotus Heating Systems A/S that have been awarded the Swan Ecolabel so far are indicated
by the Swan symbol by Nordic Ecolabel. Awarding the ecolabel is a continuous process. Some products

Stylish mirror glass front. Together with the stainless materials the mirror effect gives a feeling of quality

Well designed wood burner inserts with stylish and almost hidden controls and excellent
combustion technology. Wood burner inserts by Lotus are the optimal choice both for
refurbishing open wood burners, open hearth and for new builds.
A Lotus insert is designed to be environmentally friendly. This is done by markedly reducing
the amount of particulate matter escaping through the chimney. Combustion is improved
and at the same time efficiency is dramatically improved.
Wood burner inserts by Lotus are available in many sizes and you will find the exact
dimension in the back of the pamphlet.

With wood burner inserts from Lotus, you have numerous options; in fact, you
can design your own wood burner insert. With varying widths and heights, wood
burner inserts from Lotus have it all. Five different surrounds are available and
you can choose from black, grey or stainless steel fronts as well as large double
doors with a glass front or the Magic with its black, mirrored glass and the onepiece
glass frame. The G Models have the added advantage that the outer glass
does not heat up as much as the other models.

Are you looking for a wood burner
insert in a tall format
The natural choice would be the H700.
The H700 is characterized by the tall pane
and narrow burning chamber. This makes
the H700 ideal for installation where a more
compact design is required.
The H700 is available with a black or grey
steel front, stainless, as well as the Magic
glass edition.
Like all other wood burner inserts by Lotus,
the H700 may be connected directly with
combustion air (see page 17).

If you want to enjoy the dancing flames from several sides, the H570 T is the right choice for you.
The double insert with glass on both sides creates a natural connection between the rooms of the
home. Naturally, you will be able to operate the stove from both sides, whether you want to
regulate the combustion air or add more wood.
The H570T is available with a black or grey steel front, stainless, as well the unique Magic edition
with its mirrored glass.

H470 W
The widescreen format wood burner inserts by Lotus is
the natural choice for the modern consumer.
Design and size are aligned precisely in order to match the
other components of a modern home.
Lotus wide comes in two sizes. The H470 W is available
with a black or grey steel front, stainless, as well as the
Magic edition glass front.
The H570 W is available with a black or grey steel front,
as well as stainless.

Wood burner inserts
– spreading warmth and relaxation to several rooms
Would you like to be able to distribute the heat
between several rooms
The wood burner insert by Lotus, model name Air,
with integral fan aspirates cold air through the
grill underneath the door and the heated air is
expelled at the top of the door or transferred to
other rooms of the house (see page 17).
The fan features stepless control and is able to
move up to 300 m 3 of air per hour. This ensures
optimal heating throughout the house.
The following models are available with a fan:
H470, H570, H470 W and H570 W – only available
with black or grey steel front.

Natural heat through wood burner inserts
- quite simply
Through the years, a lot has been said about wood
burner inserts and the environment. It is important
to know that heating with wood is good for the
environment and for your pocket. Wood is a raw
material that grows and forms a part of Nature’s cycle
as sustainable energy. That is why heating with wood
is a good deal more environmentally friendly than
using oil, coal or gas.
In order to ensure clean and environmentally friendly
combustion, it is important that you use the wood burner
correctly. Therefore, you should not use wet wood, household
waste or supply too little air during combustion, as this is very
harmful to the environment. Always follow the manufacturer’s
instructions because that way, you will be able to help keeping
the environment healthy and clean, for yourself,
and for your children.
Burn wood in a safe, economic and environmentally friendly way
GOOD: Always use wood. It is an environmentally friendly source of heat.
BAD: Never use milk cartons or pressure impregnated wood.
It pollutes the environment.
GOOD: Make sure the wood is dry by knocking the pieces
together. It should make a sharp sound.
BAD: Wet wood will make your living room smell sour and
cause cresote to build up in your flue. The worst case
scenario would be a flue fire.
GOOD: Always start the fire using dry kindling and use a solid fuel brick or
similar. This will ensure that the fire starts quickly whilst being
energy efficient and kinder to the environment.
BAD: Avoid starting the fire using paper and large pieces of firewood, as
the fire will not start quickly enough and this would be harmful to
the environment. This goes for milk cartons, cardboard and the like
as well.

The Sun, the forests and your conscience
Put simply, you could say that the energy
in a piece of wood comes from the sun,
thus making wood a sustainable source of
energy.
The amount of CO 2
released from a piece of
firewood rotting away in the forest, is
roughly the same as the amount of CO 2
released from the same piece of wood
during combustion.
This means that burning wood is CO 2
neutral and does not contribute to the
greenhouse effect, as opposed to oil, gas
and the like, but rather, it enters a natural
cycle.
In most countries, forests are increasingly
replanted, thus preserving the energy
supply of the future. This is why you can go
ahead and fire up the heat while heating in
an environmentally friendly way.
GOOD: Use wood pieces that fit the burning chamber and make sure
that there is air between the wood and the walls of the burning
chamber, so the pieces will be heated up at the same time.
BAD: Never use pieces of firewood that are too big. This prevents
heat from developing quickly.
GOOD: Only fill the burning chamber according to the manufacturer’s
specification, usually 2-3 pieces of split firewood.
BAD: Never fill the burning chamber completely, as this
causes bad combustion and may void the warranty due
to damage from overheating.
GOOD: Always supply so much air that the flames are bright at the
top.
BAD: Dark flames are a sign of unclean combustion. If you decrease
the air supply too much, unburned gasses will escape through
the flue, which will damage the environment and your heating
economy.

In many well insulated properties, it
is possible to move part of the heat to
other rooms. The efficient and modern
wood burner insert will help you
achieve this.
By mounting hot air stubs on top of the
stove and connecting these to pipes or
hoses, it is possible to transport a lot of
the heat to other rooms, which will also
have a positive effect on your utility bills.
If you have chosen the Air model wood
burner insert with integral fan, you will be
able to move even larger amounts of air
and heat in accordance with your needs.
The fan features stepless control and will
move up to 300 m 3 of air per hour. Always
seek advice from your local dealer regarding
the possibility of moving heat.
Special frames
Most models are available with the
outer frame around the stove made to
measure and you should ask your dealer
about sizes and variations.
Opening the doors
By default, all wood burner inserts by
Lotus come with the opening handle
on the right and the hinges on the left,
when seen from the front. However, an
inverted opening is available free of
charge if this is indicated when ordering.
Installation dimensions
A wood burner insert should never fit
tightly. Steel expands when heated and
if our indications regarding the installation
dimensions are not followed, there
is a significant risk that this will cause
the masonry around the stove to crack. A
correctly installed frame will ensure that
the installation opening is not visible
afterwards.
Combustion air stub
Combustion air stubs are available for
all wood burner inserts by Lotus.
The combustion air is drawn from
another room or from outside. All
inserts, with the exception of the
Tunnel models, are mounted with a
rearward combustion air stub. The
Tunnel models are mounted with the
combustion air stub downwards.
In new or well insulated houses, it may
be advantageous, and sometimes even
necessary, to use a combustion air stub.
The stub will ensure that your wood
burner insert gets enough oxygen
for combustion, and thus functions
adequately.
Always ask your local dealer for advice
and guidance.
