Leon Friedman addressed the annual meeting of<br />

Theo Liebmann presented a portion of a<br />
Practising <strong>Law</strong> Institute program on Ethical<br />
Considerations in Children’s <strong>Law</strong> Practice on<br />
September 4th.<br />
Linda McClain presented a paper entitled<br />
“Families and Self-Government” at a Brooklyn<br />
<strong>Law</strong> School faculty workshop on September 12.<br />
On October 10, she presented a paper entitled<br />
“Marriage and Social Health: Marriage<br />
Promotion, Marriage (E)quality, and Welfare<br />
Reform” at NYU <strong>Law</strong> School’s Colloquium in<br />
<strong>Law</strong>, Philosophy, and Political Theory.<br />
Richard Neumann served on an ABA site team<br />
inspecting the School of <strong>Law</strong> at St. Thomas<br />
<strong>University</strong> in Minneapolis and wrote the Program<br />
of Legal Study section of the site inspection<br />
report.<br />
Alan Resnick was the moderator of a program<br />
on the implications of Enron before the American<br />
College of Bankruptcy held on October 2 in<br />
Chicago.<br />
Andy Schepard made a presentation to the New<br />

HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS<br />
Eric Freedman has been named Reporter to the<br />
2d edition of the ABA Guidelines for the<br />
Appointment and Performance of Defense<br />
Counsel in Death Penalty Cases, which will be<br />
presented for approval to the House of Delegates<br />
in February.<br />
Norm Silber’s book, A Corporate Form of<br />
Freedom, was haled as “superb” and<br />
“pathbreaking” in the annual book review issue of
<strong>FACULTY</strong> <strong>NEWS</strong> — 11.15.02 — PAGE 4<br />
the Michigan <strong>Law</strong> Review.<br />
Roy Simon has been appointed to the<br />
Committee on Professional and Judicial Ethics of<br />
the Association of the Bar of the City of New<br />
York and was named chairperson of its<br />
