Steps to Applying College (con’t.) Make your Application Folders (with pockets) • One folder for your counselor • One folder for each of your teachers who have agreed to do a letter of recommendation for you 1. Complete the Recommendation Checklist and tape it to the outside of each folder 2. Left side—place the letter to the teacher/counselor, your resume’, , and any other information that you think is important 3. Right side—slide slide the recommendation forms in the addressed, stamped envelopes and align them by the due dates listed on the front of your folder. Make sure that all of your information is complete before turning in to counselor. 4. You may add to your folders as necessary for additional scholarships, etc. as long as you give a 2-week 2 turn around time to complete the additional applications. duPont Manual SENIOR MEETING 2007 24
Steps to Applying College (con’t.) • Submit your folders to counselor/teachers by October 1 • Attach the application fee (check not cash) • Address the envelop and adhere adequate postage. Applications will not be accepted w/out adequate postage. One stamp will NOT work. • Do NOT put your home return address on the envelop. We must use Manual’s s address. • Submit all pieces of information that must go to the college to the counselor at one time—inside inside the Folder. We will complete the school’s s section, write a letter of recommendation (if needed), and attach an official transcript and school profile.
