- Brett Whitworth
2008 – 2011 Senior
“Cross Country is a sport like no other.
You learn to push yourself harder and farther
then you thought you ever could. I
would be amazed to see someone go out
for XC and at the end of the season say, “I
didn’t have fun throughout the season.”
2012 Outlook
With the nine of the top ten returning for both
the girls and boys teams, the 2012 season
should be “A Race to the Top.”
The girls will be led by Tayllor Cochrane, Trisha
Frazer, Nicole Gardner, Shelby Hardison, and
Kristen Wasik. The girls will be shooting for
their 4th straight region championship and a
spot on the podium at state.
The boys team will be led by Tyler Boone,
Miles Ownsby, Spencer Pennington, Drake
Uselton and Mason Timken.
Why do so many students choose
to be a part of our team each
year
• Enjoy camaraderie between
teammates
• Gain satisfaction & self-esteem
• Develop a life long skill
• Get in great physical shape
• Overnight trips to races
• Pasta parties
• Team camp
- Brooke Barnes
2008—2011 Senior
"When I started XC, I had no idea what I
was getting myself into, but it turned out
to be one of my best high school experiences.
I would never trade the memories
I have gained for anything."
Seniors, Trisha
together to
leave the others
behind.
- Laura Bean
2008—2011 Senior
“Cross Country was an unforgettable
experience. Without a doubt, you will
discover how to push yourself beyond
what you know you are already capable of
and into who you want to become.”
- Drew Vaughan
2008 – 2011 Senior
“People always say that there’s something
to look back on from high school,
and for me its cross country. I learned
an important life lesson; knowing the
difference between “discomfort” and
“pain” can help me pace myself for
success. If life was a book, XC would
be the chapter I’d definitely re-read!”
Senior, Tyler
Boone shows
the perfect
running form
that led him
to a 4th place
finish at the
2011 Region
4AAA meet.
- Seth Naish
2008 – 2011 Senior
“The running and challenging practices are
nothing compared to the friends you will
meet and experiences you will have.”
- Laura Sullivan
2010—2011 Senior
“Cross Country is one of the best things
you’ll ever do for yourself.” It’s a family of
friends that continually encourage you to
always do your best and to never give up
because they never give up on you!
