For the second year, Strathmore brings
together new artists and seasoned mentors.
Explore the results in this fascinating
exhibition, as Minna Philips (drawing/
installation), Brittany Sims (painting),
Solomon Slyce (photography) and Wilmer
Wilson IV (mixed media installation) debut
new works created under the mentorship of
area artists Lenny Campello, Tim Tate and
Susana Raab during a six month visual arts
residency at Strathmore.
Building Bridges, Not Fences
September 24–November 5
This photography exhibition explores
the technical and conceptual journey
from traditional to digital media, as well
as the aesthetic bridge that exquisite
photojournalism builds between cultures.
The first floor galleries feature Bruce
Barnbaum, one of the finest masters of
traditional techniques, whose work making
images with today’s digital technology
redefines the medium. In the Gudelsky
Gallery Suite, photojournalists and
photographers go beyond traditional family,
town and city scenes, connecting cultures
through a depth of understanding and visual
communication that goes beyond borders.
