every day of the year! Beyond the
world-class performances and art
exhibitions, you’ll find enriching arts
education programs for everyone. These
fascinating programs bring together artists with
learners of all ages, and invite you to broaden and
deepen your interactions with the arts.
Strathmore Education:
Arts Adventures
For kids: Learn to play ukulele, join a
family sing-along, enjoy performances
in our backyard or try some hands-on
self expression in photography and art
workshops.

For adults: Learn about the arts in
lectures, pick up a new hobby, hone
your craft, or fulfill a lifelong dream of
performance in classes and workshops.
Every school year, Strathmore partners
with schools in and beyond Montgomery
County to bring curriculum-enhancing arts
experiences to students from from grades
1-12. We focus especially on partnerships
with Title I schools, or those with a large
proportion of low-income students.
Strathmore joins educators with teaching
artists to design engaging programs for
children, brings all 20,000 Montgomery
County Public Schools 2nd and 5th
graders to the Concert Hall for curriculumbased
performances, sends our Artists in
Residence and other professional musicians
to classrooms and provides transportation
and tickets to performances. Through these
programs, Strathmore reaches thousands
of young people, their families and their
teachers. A signature program is our yearlong
Title I program, where we deliver multidisciplinary
arts workshops to students on
teacher workdays and during spring break,
providing a fantastic arts experience for
children who have limited access to the arts.
